Just spent 2 nights at this peaceful location with lovely views overlooking the garden & the Devonshire hills. Susan made us very welcome with delicious home-made cake & freshly-made coffee. Great breakfast with quality produce. Well recommended.

Beautiful house. The room had fantastic views and excellent facilities. The kind of thing you would expect from a five star hotel! Sue and John were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Can't speak highly enough. Definitely be returning.

Room Tip: All the rooms were of the same high standard.

Really welcoming, even did our washing. Lovely rooms, really friendly, we were doing Lands End to John O Groats and stayed in 13 differnet hotels/ guest houses, Clotsworthy house was the best of them all. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

When we arrived at Clotworthy House we were served tea and cake which was very welcome after a two hundred mile drive. Our room was very spacious and the bed was the most comfortable we have slept on.The breakfast was cooked with all local produce which we really enjoyed.Sue and John are local people so could supply any local information. We have friends in the area so we will be returning to Clotworthy House in the future.

Clotworthy House is definitely worth a visit. The owners have spent years rebuilding and renovating an old coaching inn. The result of the families hard work is impressive. The rooms are kept in their original style but have all the modern amenities you could want. The family are very friendly and will help you with any questions you may have. I stayed here for three days in November with my 81 year old mother and our host made us both feel very welcome and at home. The landlady also makes a smashing full english breakfast! Next time I go to Devon I will be sure to visit this lovely B&B again.

Had a great stay last October. Good location. Not far from north Dartmoor and to the north Devon coast. Lots of countryside walks and a lovey village. The local pub unfortunately was not serving food the weekend we arrive as it had just reopened- but its meant to be good! Other good pubs are within short driving distance.
Fantastic hosts, cake and coffee on arrival, and a lovely wood fire.
Very homely, and breakfast 5*!
Highly reccommend.

My wife and I sold and moved out of our Northamptonshire home in the middle of July. We came down to the West Country, looking for a property for our retirement, which we found, in Mid Devon, fairly easily. Initially we stayed in hotels all over Devon. We came to Clotworthy House for a few days at the beginning of August and liked it so much that we stayed for nearly two and a half months. We usually hate b & bs, liking the anonymity of hotels, but there is nothing not to like about Clotworthy House and everything to love.
Sue and John are lovely, generous hosts, always there paying attention to every little detail. You are welcomed into their home, their superbly comfortable bedrooms, you are lavished with a huge choice of breakfast fare.
This is a bed and breakfast establishment that is the yardstick for others to attain to.

Room Tip: They are all good rooms
