Poached, squeezed, pressed, steamed, grilled, wilted, roasted, battered and seared. Our utterly delicious food, from first thing in the morning to last thing at night, will melt on your tongue and always leave you wanting more. Our menus comprise contemporary interpretations of classic British dishes. Our Lunch and Dinner menus also feature daily Best of British specials. It almost goes without saying that we use fresh, local, seasonal produce as the norm.Breakfast offers you a range of cold dishes and freshly baked pastries from the larder. As well as a fully cooked Scottish breakfast, you can order anything from delicate smoked Scottish Haddock to meltingly beautiful Eggs Florentine. If there’s anything else you’d like to eat, just ask. We’re not too posh or proud to make boiled egg and soldier. The Osprey Bar is warm and welcoming, the perfect place to meet, the bar is full of quiet corners. Tuck yourself away with a paper. Enjoy a quiet romantic moment. The Boat Bistro & Bar, you'll find:Best of British specials every day.Breakfast, lunch and dinner, contemporary interpretations of traditional dishes using fresh local produce. Extensive malt whisky selection. Early Bird Dining. We welcome everyone to experience the Bistro & Bar, including guests not staying at the hotel.

Good service, fresh, tasty food. Plenty to choose from, plain to fancier, with daily specials available as well as the normal menu. Make sure you book as it seems to be popular with the locals too.

The bistro is impressive and well decorated, in fact the best part of the experience. We had booked a table, which wasn't ready when we arrived, we were seated 10 minutes after our booking time. The bar service was laughable (we weren't asked if we wanted a drink when we were finally seated), the bar tender was unable to find wine. We had yet another wait for our order to be taken (after having to find menus ourselves). The food arrived in reasonable time, was nothing more than average and quite pricey. We then asked for an espresso brulee and ten minutes later the waitress came with a cup of espresso - by this time we had had enough and just told them to forget it, we would just have the bill. The waitresses were all very pleasant, at the risk of sounding sexist it was the male staff who let down the side!

The service was a little slow but fine. The food was tasty and the staff very friendly. The bar was well stocked.

We were two families who cycled from Aviemore for lunch at the Boat. The food was really good and the service attentive. It was quite quiet, which it has been the last couple of times we have visited. I can't understand why because it's a good hotel easily accessible by car, walking, bike or steam train. The food is good and reasonably priced.
