“A very homely, comfortable and spacious lodge. Perfect for our needs.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

This lodge was perfect for our week long holiday in glorious sunshine. Kitchen very well equipped, lounge/dining area spacious and very comfortable, bedrooms well appointed, with comfy beds and crisp bedlinen. The raised decking is fantastic. The Treehouse was very clean and everything was in excellent working order. The garden is large and great fun for children to adventure in. The space in the boiler room and outside under the lodge is great for drying wetsuits, etc so no need to take that type of thing into the main house. Would have no hesitation in recommending this to any family wanting a very comfortable place to stay in the Boat of Garten/Aviemore area.

“Fabulous setting in the trees!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent Easter week at this property. It had a lovely setting amongst scots pines with fabulous views of the Cairngorms from the balcony.
It is a spacious house and a real 'home from home,' so much nicer than a lot of holiday cottages that just have the essentials.
We loved the log burner as it made the place so cosy!
The children loved exploring the garden too.
The location was perfect and we enjoyed several lovely woodland strolls without needing to take the car. Boat of Garten is a lovely village in itself but also very handy for Aviemore and the road networks.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

“A unique house in a stunning location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

The Treehouse feels more like a home from home rather than a holiday rental. It is ideally located within Boat of Garten. When inside, the house feels as if it stands in isolation. Yet, it is less than 5 minutes walk to 2 great restaurants and the local village shop.

There is ample comfortable seating for all the guests (not always the case with holiday lets) and a wide selection of DVDs, books, games, jigsaw puzzles for when the weather outside makes it preferable to stay indoors and enjoy the delights of the wood burner.

The outdoors deck is a great place to watch the birds and squirrels and enjoy the view across to the Coirngorms.

The Treehouse is truly unique and definitely to be recommended.

“The treehouse, wow!!”

The location of the treehouse is fantastic, off set from the quiet road set in its own grounds. There are very pleasant walks in the nearby Forrest and woods, great for walking the dog, jogging or cycling.
There is plenty to explore a little further afield as Aviemore and the Cairngorms are only a short drive away.
The treehouse itself is a fantastic place to come and unwind!
It's very spacious with a huge kitchen and living room. The bedrooms are all very comfortably portioned with great storage space.
The house is very warm and welcoming after a days walking in the hills, especially with the log burner on in the lounge.
Looking forward to our next visit.

“Great location and house but diy skills needed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Great location and house but we had problems with the shower, heating and log. runner despite following all instructions and don't want to have to deal with this on holiday. Bedroom tvs. Rey small and lighting very dim so could only read in one chair

Guests texted regarding heating on Saturday evening, and we called them back and talked through checking room thermostat, boiler timer settings. As we were assured these were fine, we then drove to the property to check the heating to find that heating was working perfectly, but room thermostat was turned down. Thermostat was turned up and heating came on instantly.
We could not have responded any quicker to the issue, and there was no fault with the heating.
The shower pump cut out ( due to a power surge - these things are rare but outwith our control) but this was resolved by the guest, as per the instructions, by pressing the reset button.
The bedroom TVs are 19", standard bedroom size, but there is a large one in the lounge.
Regarding lighting, there is no ceiling light in the lounge, due to the design of the roof, but there are 5 table lights and 3 wall lights.
The guests emailed after their stay to say they had thoroughly enjoyed their stay!

“Children Loved This House in the Trees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 August 2013 for a stay in October 2011

Unusual and quirky but with everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Loved the deck where you can sit out for breakfast or later and watch the birds and squirrels BELOW you. Highlight for the children was when the steam train went past and they ran to the fence at the bottom of the garden to wave. Only slight negative was the open stair well in the living/dining room which we blocked with a chair to stop the smallest toddler from tumbling down. Would have liked a stair gate there. We would have returned next year but property already booked for our dates.

Glad you enjoyed your stay, we would be delighted to have you back anytime.
We take on board your comment about the stair. We have been unable to source a stairgate wide enough to fit, but without a bottom bar which could be a hazard to other guests.

“Fabulous base for exploring the area”

An excellent place to stay and use as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. The Treehouse itself is like a home from home with all the comforts you could ask for. The coal fire is amazing when the nights are cold and dark. We have been going to the Treehouse for the last six years and look forward to our visit every year.
