Stayed one night, room clean and very satisfied with all inclusive breakfast which is served in the Inn itself. Staff very helpful and polite. Would certainly use again.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here over Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pub was the venue for a wedding during the weekend and we were concerned about the noise mentioned in other reviews but were pleasantly suprised as this did not affect our stay at all.

Breakfast on the Monday morning was lovely really fresh and cooked to our needs which was a surprise as on the previous day the food served was cold and no choices given! There was obviously a big difference between the standards of the serving staff /chef on the Monday and Sunday! The other issue we had was we arrived at about 2pm we sat and had a coffee but when we attempted to order food at 2.35 we were told service had stopped- surely somebody could've mentioned this as we had ordered four drinks by then! Having been told this we then watched the chef leave the premises! This also put us off stopping at The Plough for Sunday lunch the next day.

Aside from this we had a relaxing and comfortable stay- we really appreciated the shower and the bed and loved watched in rabbits in the field out the back.

as a regular eating at this pub, I recommend the Sunday Lunches especially. Fresh food, well cooked and presented beautifully. Not too "cheffy", the food is on the more expensive side of pub food, but thats due to the care and attention given to the menu, which offers a good selection of specials, often quite unusual but delicious. Locally sourced where possible, good fresh food on offer here. And the staff are wonderful with nothing too much trouble - much like the food.
only down side is the lack of sandwich choices.
Otherwise - full of taste and choice with good selection of wines too.

The room we were given had a badly chipped and rusting bath, there was black mould in places around the bath edge near the wall. There was no heating on in the room even though we were reaching the end of the coldest winter for many years. The bed quilts hardly covered the bed let alone covering a person as well as they were far too small. the room reeked of a strong air freshener which in our opinion seemed to be to mask the smell of smoking as the room's decorations showed signs of staining from nicotine. There was not even a plug in the sink and the lavatory had no paper except 2 sheets on a roll - no replacement until we asked. On speaking to the manager the next day we were told it was our fault and we could have had a different room had we spoken to him. We had not arrived back at the hotel until about 11.30pm, the reception closes at 11.00pm. We hardly wished to be moving at that time of night. In the end I got a reluctant apology after one phone call with a very rude manager and many emails. We certainly will avoid this place again. I would add on a positive note that the other staff were very obliging and hospitable.

It's in the village of Eaton, a mile or so out of Congleton. The Plough is a traditional village pub with lots of old features, excellent beer and good food. The rooms are far higher specification than expected - we were impressed! Very quiet and lots of room. I suspect it's a busy businessman's hotel during the week and I think the food prices reflect that.

The Plough appears to be a tradtional inn now geared to functions. We used one of a 2 storey row of motel style rooms across the car park from the main building to break a journey. The room was larger and more comfortable than expected for the setting, with ample dark wood storage, proper armchair and wide bed. The bathroom included a bath and was spacious. Despite opening directly on to the car park it was quiet - though there was no function on that night, which may be worth checking in advance.
Breakfast was in a pleasant traditionally style bar / dining room and was cooked to order.
