Being a Conference Manager for a Venue Finding Agency, I had been looking forward to staying at Yew Tree Farm rather than 4 or 5 star hotels for over 6 months and it surpassed my expectations of a Farmhouse B&B. We attended a wedding nearby to North Rode hence our visit. We were warmly welcome by Sheila Kidd, who is, quite rightly, proud of her Farm and B&B. It is in a beautiful setting with amazing views across their many acres. Our room was extremely clean and furnished beautifully. It offered every modern comfort and amenity including bottled water, tea/coffee/biscuits, toiletries and en-suite shower room. It was warm and cosy. The lounge was ideal for the 4 of us that were staying with magazines, books, TV and comfortable sofa/chairs. Breakfast the following day was delicious and Sheila looked after us really well. Breakfast consisted of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices, hot drinks, full English breakfast etc and it surpassed breakfast in many of the 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Keep up the good work Sheila and thank you for making us feel so welcome. Best Wishes, Melanie & Paul.

We stayed at Yew Tree Farm for one night in July having booked directly by email which was easy. Situated in the small hamlet of North Rode near Congleton, Cheshire. Warmly welcomed by Sheila. Double room en-suite, small but nicely decorated and very comfortable, overlooking colourful cottage garden with ducks wandering on other side of picket fence. Great night's sleep in very comfortable bed, followed by a delicious cooked farmhouse breakfast with some of Sheila's award winning marmalade to finish. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable farmhouse B&B near the Peak District.

We had a wonderful stay at Yew tree farm where we were based for a weekend. We were made to feel very welcome-the owners looked after us very well with generous and delicious breakfasts and our room was spotless and comfortable. The view from our room, overlooking the farm, was lovely and our son really enjoyed exploring this working farm. We would highly recommend this B&B for those in search of a peaceful retreat and a good appetite!

We planned a farmstay for our boys aged 10 and 14 during our recent trip to UK in June this year. Cheshire was the most obvious choice since we had to visit a dear friend in Leek ( a small village in Staffordshire), visit Jodrell bank and Liverpool. A remote farm called Yewtree farm was selected because the lady in charge was very warm and friendly over the phone and emails that we had exchanged. The place was in the heart of Cheshire county and the drive was simply beautiful.
The farm house was straight out of an Enid Blyton book. Upon arrival, the hostess Shiela, served us a generous tea (warm Victorian sponges with delicious coffee, tea and cocoa). They showed us the farm animals and my ten year old boy's dream came true when he got a chance to ride the farm tractor! Both Shiela and her husband Malcom answered my boys' questions patiently.
The rooms were small but very comfortable. The beds were luxurious. We woke up to the cocks crowing and the cows mooing. On peering out of the window, we could see a thin mist everywhere. The breakfast was a yummy spread of organic farm products and Shiela's award winning Orange Marmalade! Hmm Yummy...I still remember the tangy taste.
The drive to Jodrell Bank (used to have the largest radio telescope in the world) was spectacular. The Jodrell Bank centre was a bit of a disappointment as many of the activities/shows that we had seen during our visit sixteen years ago, were no longer there. The virtual tour to the planet Mars was a big hit! The cafe at the centre served the famous and creamiest of Cheshire farm ice-creams. We walked out smiling like Cheshire cats after eating the sinfully rich ice-creams.
We managed to catch the sunset twice while climbing the hills up and down. My boys found it very phenomenal.
The garden was a typical english garden and was in full bloom. We loved our afternoon tea served outside.
On the whole, a visually pleasing and soothing experience. Own transport is advisable for visitors as there is no public transportation available or one has to be ready to pay a fortune on the cabs.
