We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting family in the area, and will certainly book next time we make the trip.
The room was very clean and comfortable and Dennis & Theresa were very friendly and would go that extra mile to make your stay as nice as possible.
Thanks for everything.

We absolutely loved the Ham and Cheese. We stayed for one night during the mid-week, due to its central location. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and went above and beyond. (The owner offered to keep the chef on for us, if we were hungry.) The pub itself felt like home, where we sat and enjoyed a few pints and dessert. The full English breakfast was excellent in which all of the foods were locally sourced. This is an excellent place to stay, if you are looking for a central location, friendly atmosphere, and a good value. We would return again.

Booked for just one night as we were visiting another hotel 4 miles away for Speciaa Afternoon Tea so decided to stay over and enjoy the area.Greeted on arrival and ordered drinks and lunch which was very nicely presented and there was plenty of it .Room was very light and tastefully decorated and had an en suite which is always a bonus. After our afternoon tea we returned to The Ham and Cheese for drinks and met some of the locals who welcomed us and brought us into their circle which was great .Bed was very comfy and breakfast next morning was nicely cooked to order and tasted great setting us up for a further long drive to South Wales.Good value and well worth a visit especially if visiting the east coast .

We were heading back down from Scotland after almost 3 weeks B&B in Scotland we needed a quiet location for an overnight stop on the jouney back to the South West. - Found this location on the net and booked it a day in advance we arrived at the Pub had a very pleasant and friendly reception including the locals -Nice selection of real ales. The evening meal was very well prepared with an excellent variety on the menu. Room was fresh and clean. The Breakfast was well presented and plentiful which set us up for the day. The whole place was Clean fresh and in a quiet location could not fault and would return if ever passing or wanting to explore the area again.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here at the beginning of June and found it to be like a home from home. The atmosphere was very friendly both by staff and locals. Food was fabulous and reasonably priced. The Ham and Cheese is located in a very quaint and quiet area so perfect for a peaceful retreat. The only thing that lets it down is the water system as pressure is poor but this would not put us off booking again. It is also very clean with lovely rooms with en - suite.

Great presentation, portions sizes ample and lovely and hot. Delicious and fantastic value for money! We had Gammon, Egg, Chips and Peas special at £5.
