“A little gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

This is a real gem of a B&B nestled in the heart of the village. Cosy, comfortable, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, it's the perfect base for exploring the lovely Tees valley. Lynda is a very welcoming host and has a wealth of local knowledge, especially about walks in the area. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We very much hope to return sooner rather than later.

We deliberately came back, it says it all. Lynda knows the area very well esp for walkers each morning she gave an in depth and accurate weather forecast. Standards are just as high as before. Stayed 2 nights this time as part of the Pennine Way.

We have just stayed 2 nights and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay. Lynda is a wonderful host who cooks a very tasty breakfast - local sausages and 2 eggs if wanted set us up for the day.
Both rooms spotless and tastefully decorated.
We are definitely planning a return stay.

A spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and equipped B&B. We stayed for one night when in the area for my partner's work, and found a very warm welcome (with a pot of tea and biscuits) from our delightful hostess, Lynda. The en suite room was perfect - plenty of storage, well laid out, comfy beds, amazing shower - and breakfast was delicious. Lynda was very helpful in answering our questions about the local area, and giving us the day's weather forecast with our breakfast coffee was a great touch! Nothing was too much trouble. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed - and that's saying something!

We have stayed at The Old Barn twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay there. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. The breakfasts well made and locally sourced. Linda is a font of knowledge of the area. The hot drink drinks and cookies on arrival are a nice touch. I felt like home, thanks.

Room Tip: Each one was excellent.

My wife and I were walking The Pennine Way and we couldn't have picked a more nicer place to stay in Middleton. Lynda was the perfect host who really looked after us and even sourced a bandage for my wife's sore knee.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast was perfect.
Middleton itself is worth a visit and we hope to return very soon when we have more time. A highly recommended B&B to anyone visiting this wonderful part of the country.

We had booked two nights at The Old Barn to correspond with our friend's wedding. Upon arrival we were treated to a hot drink, cookies and a friendly face - the perfect remedy after a long journey.
The rooms were excellently maintained and the communal area was very welcoming. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the showers were a revelation. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts each morning; there was always an offer of more toast, coffee and juice.
I would highly recommend a stay at The Old Barn. Thank you Lynda.
