“What a gem !!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

Found this little gem today while driving by, lots of customers already seated. Staff friendly and welcoming. Clean and comfortable with great views over the valley at the rear. Menu very extensive with good choice and "two for" specials, food was excellent and sweets to die for !!
Will certainly recommend to friends.

“Great Pub Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

Had an excellent meal at the Ox. The food was excellent quality and very reasonably priced - the service was great and the staff were great. The pub has an extensive menu but also does a number of daily specials - I had Corned Beef pie and it was delicious especially the home cooked chips, the kids menu is good with a number of choices. The desserts are lovely and I can recommend the cherry pie which had lots of cherries in it. The pub was very busy but we didn't wait more than 15 mins for our meals and the staff and managers were very busy but they took the time to speak to loads of people and nothing seemed too much trouble.

“A typical pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

It's a straight forward pub, met with a smile from the younger bar maid. Nice simple game of pool, followed by the a day brunch. The prices were great, couldn't faulted it apart from the words "ash is a faggot" wrote on the chalk board. I would recommend this to everyone, well unless your name is ash

“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014 via mobile

Went to a The Ox on Saturday (21st June) tea time with hubby and the girls. Ordered three pies - Cumberland sausage, chicken and mushroom and chicken, leek and ham pie. All with chips. Chips were scrummy. Eldest daughter ordered chilli and rice which came with sour cream and nachos. Pies were lovely, although two of them did need the gravy that came with them, which the waiting staff offered to refill if needed. Eldest daughter said the chilli was lovely. We all had desserts. The girls had chocolate fudge cakes and hubby and I shared an Eton Mess Sundae. All absolutely gorgeous. We will be back
