I booked the punch bowl last minute as I was working in the area. The staff were warm and accommodating on my arrival.
My room was nicely decorated and very clean with a good supply for tea and coffee making facilities. The room was ensuite and perfect for my requirements.
The bar was slightly noisy until about midnight but this is to be expected in this type if accommodation.
I did not eat here as I arrived late and left early however there looked to be a nice selection of food on the menu.
I will certainly stay here again in the future.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the Punch Bowl. Our room was advertised as en suite and although there was a shower and a very small basin we had to share a toilet with other rooms.
I had phoned to check that we would be able to get an evening meal and had been assured that we would but on arrival we were told that this was not available so we had to go out again in search of food. The noise on Saturday night was very loud indeed and would have prevented sleep if we had not been able to purchase earplugs from a local supermarket. The soap in the bathroom has clearly been used by previous residents of the room. On our second morning they had run out of bread and so we could not have toast for breakfast. The only coffee available was instant.
Our room was not cleaned during our stayed, the cups were not changed. We had been really looking forward to our weekend and would not have been so disappointed if they had been honest about what was on offer.

Stayed here whilst working in area.
Most awful place.
Booked for 3 weekends. 1st weekend they got booking right.- 2 single rooms.
2nd weekend messed up and informed us on arrival that only one room was available. Walked out and drove 130 miles home .

Food passable if fries are your thing..
Forgot to tell us that food is unavailable on Saturday night until I'd had a couple of pints. Had to get taxi into nearest town to eat.

Rooms quite nice having been recently refurbished and bed very comfortable.
They didn't get serviced on the weekend we stayed and try as we might, couldn't get milk to make beverages when initial small supply ran out.

Bar full of drunks and live music kept me awake until midnight.

Overall a pretty terrible and poorly run place.

Overall very poor .
Not recommended for the faint hearted.!
