Stayed at Holmleigh house in Feb 2010, for a family gathering. My husband and I stayed in Room 2, the middle room, which had an ensuite shower room and a very comfortable bed. The room was well-appointed with nice touches like daily-replenished biscuits and tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk in the mini fridge. All appliances worked. Shower was fine. All very clean. Breakfast was great - local ingredients, great variety. We needed the 8-mile walk to Branscombe over the cliffs to walk it off - and back again! Gaynor was friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, and the flexibility on breakfast time was a big plus, when unexpectedly out with famliy til 1am!
My one and only small negative was that the wind chimes outside woke me up one night when we had our window open. Could be nice for some people but not for others. I doubt this would be a problem in other rooms.
Have also stayed at Pebbles in the past, just down the road, and both of these B&Bs are better than anything I've experienced elsewhere in the UK.

We really enjoyed our stay at Homeleigh House. the rooms was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were especially impressed with the special touches such as with the mini fridge, with water and fresh milk. Gaynor was a perfect hostess, very attentive but not over bearing and a wonderful cook. The breakfast was amazing!! We will be back.

On arrival a Holmleigh House my friends and I received an extremely warm welcome and this continued throughout our stay. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and were well equipped. The communal lounge on the ground floor provided a relaxed place to meet as a group and plan the days activities and the wide selection of reading and local information were a valuable resource.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the full English breakfast which was very tasty indeed. There were also a wide range of other breakfast options available and it was good to have this flexibility.

We had an amazing weekend and will definitely visit again!

I had a great stay at Holmleigh House with my girlfriends over the bank holiday weekend. This b&b had a great mix of homely touches with all the 'mod cons, 'I especially appreciated the flat screen tv with digital included in each room. The rooms were beautifully decorated and were spotless! We enjoyed two fabulous breakfasts with lots of variety. It was also perfectly positioned, about a 1 minute walk to the beach and the owner couldn't have been more helpful with giving advice and information of the area.
