We decided to find a hotel midway back home following a short break in West Devon and came across Eyre Court via one of the main hotel booking websites. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by the gentleman who was overseeing things whilst the owner was away and he apologised as our room wasn't ready for immediate occupation due to the previous nights visitors but offered us a place to wait and have a drink whilst the room was prepared. After only a short while we were informed the room was ready and were showed to the family room located in a separate part of the building to the rear (Room 9). The family room is was in actual fact two separate bedrooms (double and twin) with a separate showeroom/w.c. The room and bedding was clean and fresh and the place was warm as it was heated via individually controllable thermostatic radiators and we were provided with ample tea and coffee making facilities. After a shower and short rest we went back down to the rear bar to have a drink and order some food. At the time of our visit a band were playing in the front bar (4 to 7 on a Sunday) they were an accomplished rock band and although quite loud the music was good and over by 7pm. We ate and drank from the menu what was standard pub fayre (no complaints) and retired with a bottle from the bar, the waiting and bar staff that evening were all friendly and accommodating. After a good nights sleep were all had breakfast in the pleasant dining room and were pleased with the quality of the standard breakfast options available. The Eyre Court is a small hotel with what seems to be a popular bar/pub at the front, the staff were all pleasant and very keen to please and some larger more expensive hotels could learn a few things about customer service from the few staff we encountered during our stay.

Room Tip: The family room we had was No.9 and located to the rear of the pub/bar and not in the main building...

We stayed here for 2 nights, and had a comfortable stay.
The rooms were clean, but nothing special- what you would expect in a pub though.
Breakfast was lovely, and plentiful.
Meals are of usual pub grub quality- but a good choice and reasonable price.
For the price of the rooms, I would stay here again, and staff are very friendly.

This is really a pub with rooms, that is very good value compared with Lyme Regis. The main bar is a proper pub bar with a dart board, and good range of beers. The hotel rooms are OK and good value for the price. We were going to eat out but a quick tour of the town (On a very wet, stormy, February night) suggested that the Eyre Court was the only place in town. What a pleasant surprize we had one of the best pub meals ever. Eating in the bar, which seemed more atmospheric than the restaurant we had a selection of fish and meat dishes, all were delicious and presented exceptionally well. Breakfast, a full English, was also excellent.

Nice little hotel about 150 yards away from the sea and shingle beach. The staff were friendly and the food was good. They have a special burger menu that was quite tasty and the cod was good as well. The TV was a little on the small side but perfectly adequate and all in all the place represents good value for money.

My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay. Hotel is situated in the middle of Seaton. We were looking for a relaxing few days but lack of sleep on the first night (Saturday) made the stay poor. There is a nightclub very nearby and noisy swearing youths roaming the streets till 4 am caused our problem. The other two nights were peaceful. We only ate at the hotel once. Normal adequate pub food far from gourmet but what we expected.
Room was clean and tidy but the bed was a bit lumpy and could have been more comfortable.
Breakfast was varied depending probably on the chef, for example I had scrambled egg one morning which was a small amount and not the best, however on the last morning my wife tried the scrambled egg and had a large amount and better cooked, however my boiled egg on same morning was undercooked.
Seaton itself as a town was not as good a place as the adjacent Lyme Regis or Beer. Next time we will stay in these places.

Room Tip: Maybe to choose a room at the back of the hotel

Have just returned from a two night stay. Had a very pleasant time with a group of friends.
Have positive and negatives thoughts about this Pub/Hotel.
Its family run, lovely to see a family working together!
Sadly it does feel a little run down. Cobwebs in the bar were a lovely feature and we couldn`t make up our mind if they were left to bring atmosphere to the decoration or accident.
Had Lunch in the Bar which was excellent, would thoroughly recommend.
Rooms were nice and clean, comfortable beds, decoration could do with a bit of updating though.
Can`t speak for the rest of our group but in our room we were disappointed with the TV reception. Didn`t bother us too much, but might for other visitors. Wi-Fi reception although free, was not good. (Putting that down to our server) just something to think about if it is important to you.
Food overall excellent. Especially appreciated the detail to my husbands gluten free diet!
Was a little saddened at the response to a complaint on receiving the meal I ordered. I requested the Ribs starter with salad, (instead of potato wedges) as a main course. When it arrived I had indeed had the Ribs along with the most enormous pile of potato wedges possible, on complaining the waiter basically told me that the chef had got it wrong and it was just too bad! Have to say he did bring me a side plate to remove most of the potatoes as anyone who knows what it feels like to be overwhelmed with such a pile of food will appreciate.
Not wanting to end on a negative, breakfast was really good. Lovely orange juice, and gluten free toast.
Would recommend this hotel.
