We stayed in the Moorlands apartment for a week in late August and would return in a heartbeat. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained with everything we needed, including a cream tea on arrival! The grounds are amazing too - the vista from the outdoor pool is fabulous. The location is great - good walks in the moor nearby, and within a short drive of Totnes, Buckland and amazing coastal walks.

Spent a fabulous week at Didworthy House with two kids under 12. Everything was spotless, apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Gardens and pool were amazing, pool was warm and scrupulously clean. We packed a lot in - walk up to damn nearby, Digby beach, Eden Project, Woodlands Theme Park and the brilliant Totnes! We also bought wetsuits and did some ghyll scrambling in the river at the bottom of the garden! All in all a great location with perfect accommodation.

Just back from a week here. A lovely warm welcome from Sue and Steve. Cream tea wine and eggs where very welcome. The cottage and gardens are beautiful. The POOL is fantastic and as a family we really enjoyed it, as the weather was very kind to us. We needed to recharge our batteries this was just the place to do it. The only thing we missed was being able to walk into a village it was a drive away especially when you have just had your knee replaced. All in all a fantastic holiday and I would recommend this place.

On arrival were immediately made to feel most welcome. The accommodation was a comfortable, clean home from home, everything we needed was there for us. Our dog was made very welcome but the accommodation did not have that "dog friendly" smell you sometimes find, the cleanliness levels were so high. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to ensure holiday makers have a relaxing stay and the cream tea waiting for us certainly started our holiday in a lovely way. Unfortunately for us the weather was changeable however should we have chosen to we could have used the pool all day, every day. Inflatables are there ready for the children along with seating for the grown ups; we could sit and enjoy the beautiful views. BBQ equipment is supplied which we thought was a nice touch. Close to many of the attractions Devon has to offer the narrow roads are typical of the area and soon become familiar. The walks in the village are challenging in places but worthwhile, however I would recommend a decent map if you decide to go onto the moor. One bonus of wet weather is the waterfall visible from a pretty bridge in South Brent, a charming surprise. We were very impressed with the accommodation and friendly welcome offered and are hoping to visit again next year.

So, We arrived at Didworthy House three days ago. We were greeted by the delightful Trish and Trish who welcomed us in such a friendly way, we felt like we had known them for years despite this being a first visit. We were shown into a really spacious apartment which was spotlessly clean, beautifully apportioned, with every possible home from home facility you could ask for including a communal area which had entertainment for evenings (DVD's, games, books).

It's really hard to say any more about the apartment, it beat my expectations way of the high end of a high scale. The owners here clearly love their property and look after the apartments as if they were their own home.

On top of this the rural location was perfect. Narrow country roads or get anywhere yes, but you can walk to the village along stunningly beautiful footpaths.

South Brent is a small village but has everything you need for a short stay.

Did I mention that on arrival you are provided with fresh eggs, a Cornish cream tea, and that both were lovely......... If,I didn't, I have now.

For a spur of the moment trip this has turned into somewhere I want to stay another day, in fact - we have just decided to, now this is a first for me on a short real, usually I cannot wait to get home!

If I could rate tis place 6* I definitely would!

Just stayed in upstairs apartment at Didworthy House. Located in a quiet location about 1.5 miles from Avon Dam and 2 miles from small town of South Brent. Very welcoming owner, even gave us the components of a Devon cream tea to welcome us. Apartment is spacious and comfortable and even has a log fire. Also, dogs welcome and there is a handy large garden with stream to exercise dog. South Brent has a Co-Op for supplies and a few other shops including a delicatessen. Excellent location on the edge of Dartmoor and around an hours drive to nearest seaside. Great for a quiet break especially if you have a dog!

Room Tip: We stayed in upstairs apartment - 2 others below.
