Water taxi options to shorten the trip and options to camp or stay in lodge were wonderful. We enjoyed kayaking and hiking and tidal crossings. Wonderful time.

Fabulous scenery & wonderful customer service as did a glamping combo trip of kayaking & hiking from Marahau to Anchorage, staying overnight in a glamp tent, complete with welcome wine, great dinner & breakfast & packed lunch. We then hiked to Bark bay to be picked up by water taxi & taken back to our rental car in Marahau.
Walking poles were helpful, water can be filled up along the way at the various campsites & wear walking shoes as the terrain could be tricky on ankles.Great opportunities to swim, clean toilets & an outside rinse off shower. We were inexperienced kayakers though so shop around for the company you go with & make sure you ask all the right questions. We didnt & have since had an unfortunate follow up experience with Able Tasman Guides who didnt make it clear that our o/n bags needed to be carried in the kayaks with us, so slugged us the additional cost after we got home. All the on ground staff & kayak instructors were excellent & our overall experience was fabulous. Just read the fine print & know what you're getting, especially when you think you're buying a premium product

Only walked a couple of hours from Medlands Beach to Torrent Bay but would have liked to walk further if time had allowed. Some wonderful views- high tide and low tide alternatives - and use of water taxi from drop off and pick ups (eg. Wilson's Abel Tasman Ltd - as it is a linear walk). The whole length of the track takes several days. Super beaches for lunch stop/rest/swim if time allows.

The beaches of the Coast Track are just superb and not crowded at all. You can often have an amazing, huge beach that seems to be out of a movie all for yourself.
