At first we were not sure this was open, made our way up to the top floor. Given a table in the glass bay window - sensational views across centre and zip wire ( go to Potes and find out!)
Service friendly & helpful - enough English, plus our Spanish for a conversation beyond the menu. Food of a fair quality, largish portions; not quite up to the mark of some in town at the price. Local dishes well-represented. Wine o.k. but a bit expensive; I asked for a locally famous white, and wished I had stayed on familiar ground - later in Potes I had a different brand of the same type, which was much better.

There are a lot of mediocre restaurants serving 'local' food. This was the best we tried by far, and we ate out all the time during our 9 night stay in Potes. Yes it is more expensive than others, but remember that a starter portion is plenty big enough for two, if not four. A nice quirky restaurant in a great building. Try it once if you want to eat good quality local food. Or try the Mexican restaurant tucked around the back almost opposite Santander bank if you don't like the local cuisine. Pizzas in the bar between the two small supermarkets are also a nice option for a light meal.

My Spanish girlfriend asked if the house wine was local so we ordered two glasses. The waiter/owner left a bottle of (not local) Rioja and charged us for the bottle. agree that this is a tourist trap based on overall cost compared to other places. Tonight we eat elsewhere!

But everything is overpriced. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, though.
