We are staying in the partner hotel "ardigales 11" and the hotel made the dinner reservation for us. It is a nice restaurant with breath taking view of the port. As we are guest of the hotel, we could have a special menu at good price. We went for the fish menu and it was absolutely a good choice. Calamares with salad. Big fresh fish: ti die for. Dessert of our choice and a bottle of white wine. We loved the restaurant and the staff was friendly and helpful. Go and try it !

The restaurant is not well organized and young waiters do not know that foreign guests should be treated different.
The situation - menu of the day. We have ordered the menu and additionally a bottle of wine. Old waiter in Cape of a Good Hope T-shirt (not splendid uniform in this elegant restaurant) says that we have to pay for dessert - it is out of menu of the day. OK.
Now a young man cares about us. We have got menu and, surprisingly, tasty dessert as well. We ask what is going on and the young peon explains that dessert is included in menu of the day, the same as our wine. Well...
Fortunately, the young one made also our bill ready.

So, nice restaurant, good food and waiters very nice for foreign guests. Enjoy!

Whilst in Castro Urdiales this was strongly recommended by several locals.
It is located overlooking the harbour and the town beyond. All the food was well prepared and service was very professional. We went with the recommended local wine which was a good white wine for the fish dishes. Similar to an Alsace.reisling.
The location is excellent and we had a table by the window/blind which was open and weather was warm.
The starter were all good and the mussels with a sauce perfect. All the main courses were well prepared and very fresh local fish was the order of the day.
This is a more expensive restaurant for the area but a great place to eat

This restaurant is highly recommended by the locals and we can see why. We had an amazing banquet of all local seafood, each plate better than the last. The service was impeccable, the price was amazing and the location is perfect. We wish we came in summer to experience the ocean view even more. Note: we did have a discount for staying at the partner accommodation which we also highly recommend (Ardigales 11-funky super cool pension with great location)

Had an evening meal mid week, we were the only customers (a sign of economic times?) in the main restaurant, although quite a few in the tapas area. Went for a 3 course set menu with good choice and included glass of wine each at E24. Example: fish soup, hake, and desert, plentiful portions, well cooked, well served and would certainly return. Castro Urdiales not well served by v. good restaurants and this is about best. Most people (locals) are in the tapas bars.
