“Nice atmosphere, decent value for money”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

I really enjoyed my stay at logali house. It has its flaws, but overall it has a nice atmosphere and pretty good value for money for Juba standards. The staff are generally very nice (though sometimes slow…), the garden is beautiful and very relaxing, there is very good internet, and you can negotiate a good price if you stay longer. Food is okay though variety is not great, so it does get old after some time. Make sure you ask for a room away from the night club - it will steal your sleep a few nights per week.

I will definitely stay here again when I come back.

While writing this review I am considerate of the situation South Sudan is currently in. This hotel was up to standard and many times beyond it. There was air conditioning, showers, mosquito netted beds, decent internet, a bar and restaurant.
There is also a nightclub to one side of the hotel. I'm sure it is a wonderful nightclub but I wasn't visiting so as to party. I was on the second floor beside it for one night before an early start. The furniture in the bedroom actually vibrated at times. Amazing subwoofers!
Don't avoid this hotel please, just make sure they keep you in a room well away from the nightclub.

Decent rooms, good service, great wifi, cold beer, lovely terrace. All this in Juba. It's not 5-star but it's a lovely place. The terrace and garden are a real God-send. But be prepared for a lot of noise from the nightclub next door at the weekend.

Room Tip: If you're going to be there at the weekend and don't like disco music, ask for a room away f...

Like many others in Juba, I have never stayed at the hotel but I have spent countless hours at the Logali House restaurant for Sunday morning brunches, work days' lunches, evening drinks and night parties. Like many others, I am fond of this place, despite the service being slow and the food not always exceptional. But one doesn't get to sit in a garden that often in Juba, and the atmosphere here is incredibly nice.

Never stayed at Logali, but regularly frequented the restaurant for over a year.

Great porch from which to enjoy one of Juba's scorching hot Sundays. Good food, good drinks, friendly staff and always a good crowd.

Finding a nice place to relax and feel at home in Juba can be hard, but at Logali Rob and his team do a wonderful job making you feel welcome and at home. Although not the most swanky place in town, Logali provides a great service and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Logali is excellently located close to the airport and to the business and ministries district in Juba, meaning you don't have to queue for hours to get to your meetings. We have been using Logali as our Juba base for over a year now and I have no intention to move elsewhere. I would highly recommend staying here to a business and leisure traveller.

It's worth emphasising at the beginning of this review that you're probably not looking for a place to stay in Juba for leisure: it's a country only just coming out of civil war, and Juba is not a fully functioning city. There is minimal infrastructure, no power grid and few amenities.

In that respect, Logali House is a good option for the context. It's basic: essentially concrete blocks turned into rooms and bathrooms, but the air-conditioning is heaven-sent in Juba's steamy nights, and most things function well.

I did have a couple of minor problems: the air-conditioning conked out during the night and nobody knew how to fix it - but they moved me to another (larger) room and Rob, the manager, didn't change me back the next day to minimise inconvenience to me - good customer service right there.

There was also some workman angle-grinding the patio...at 2am. It took several attempts with the night receptionist to get him to stop the fellow from working, and even then the workman looked like he wanted to kill the receptionist - and me - for interrupting his work. It turned out the guy had been due at 6pm, turned up at midnight and expected to be able to do the job when he felt like it. Not the fault of the hotel that he was late and inconsiderate, but perhaps demonstrates some of the lack of civility currently permeating Juba. And worth perhaps an education for the hotel staff that such a thing should not be tolerated.
