“nice place to stay when traveling to Venice”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

my friend and I planned on visiting Venice without knowing that the La Biennale di Venezia was on at the time. This bnb seemed good on the Internet; reasonable price. When we got there, hmmm, the location was a little bit far from the center. But, since there were buses and a tram stop nearby, it won't be a problem. The host was very gentle and helpful. And, the room she arranged for us was soooo great! Even though we had to share with people in another room, the bedroom itself was huge. If you are going to buy the transportation ticket like 24 hrs or 72 hrs anyway, why not stay in Favaro? It's not that far~

My husband and I had a great stay at Casa D'Oro! Gabriel is incredibly friendly and helpful. When we messaged him for directions prior to our arrival in Venice, he even offered to pick us up at the station since he would be in the area. The B&B is in a quiet neighborhood, which is a nice change from the hoards of tourists you will encounter in Venice. The rooms are huge- ours had a large bed, a couch, a bookshelf, and clothing rack. Very impressive for the price. The breakfast was self serve and there was lots of variety.

The B&B is located about a 25 minute bus ride outside of Venice. It's not terribly convenient, but well worth it for the cost. I also found it quite nice to be away from all the tourists. The number 19 bus goes into Venice and back until 10 30pm, after which the number 4 runs until 1am. Very simple! The number 9 bus is also close by, and runs to the Mestre train station every 30 minutes. Great place!

Situated about 20 minutes from Venice (number 19 bus at 2.60 return). This is a great base for what Venice has to offer. GabrielIis a great host and will let you know the best way to get around. His recommendations for eating are spot on. Well valued stay. We stayed here twice over a fortnight on our travels.

Gabriel is the perfect host and will help you with all your questions, and plan your touring. The B&B is quiet and gives you a nice feel for living in Italy, which you can't experience in a Hotel environment. The room was large, and nicely furnished. The bathroom was new, clean and remodelled. Very comfortable accomodations, at a fair price. Situated in a small town with restaraunts and shopping within walking distance. Close to the bus stop for public transportation. For leaving for the airport, it's also only a few minutes away for early departures. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

very helpful people, great rooms, near the airport, close to Venice. There are direct busses to the main directions. The rooms are with wooden flor and have good beds with enough soace around. I ts a good starting point for exploring Venice. Also there is Wlan which sounds so simple but most places still do not manage to offewr it.

One of the best things about this place is the host, Gabriel. He had wonderful tips and his restaurant recommendations were fabulous. We had six in our group. Two stayed in a ground floor in room with private bath and kitchenette. This room was the best. The rest of us had to share a single bath upstairs which was okay and not unexpected. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We visited in July and the air conditioning worked well. The breakfast was good but limited. It was all do it yourself - including the dishes. It was a bit difficult knowing where to get off the bus the first time because we did not speak Italian and it was not clear once we were on the bus what stop we were at. However, once we figured it out it was no problem. The bus ride was fine but very crowded. If you want to be close to the Venice water area then you may prefer a location closer to Venice. For us this worked fine. It was also great that we could pay Gabriel to take us to the airport on the morning of our departure. Very convenient. Thank you Gabriel for a nice stay.
