In a small street, in the Venice suburb Favaro, we found the best restaurant on our trip. It was a rainy Monday evening when we came in not even having a reservation. Huge mistake!!! However the owner tried to do his best and we got a table for one hour. They have what they call a "Tablet Menu" in English with pictures. As soon as we sat down, they served us a 4 sections' tray with some salted potatoes and other unrecognized crisps. Due lack of time, we ordered our entrée and deserts. The menu contained a huge variety of food to choose from. My entrée was the Tuna Burger, which was so good; I wish I had time to order another one. [It was our last night in Italy so I couldn’t return the next day….]. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon with Mushroom sauce, which was divine. For desert we had a Strawberry Mille feuile.
Here the chef really knew his job. Every dish was perfect. The restaurant is very small and a bit dark. The gimmick of the place is the flat screens all over the place, showing live concerts. A big aquarium creates a barrier between the tables.
On our next visit to Venice, we will be sure to make a reservation and have more than an hour!
