We were tired from the long journey from Udupi to kannur but at last when we reached the Sea- Shell resort the song of the sea rejuvenated us. Every second, every minute the sea waves lashed against the shore and the rocks and its lullaby calmed our troubled souls. The architecture of the resort took our breath away. The touch of ethnicity blended with modern amenities of luxury elated us to a great extent. We felt lucky to meet Mr. Haris as we got to know how he himself planned the construction and the decoration of the resort. Those wooden doors and painted glass panes, those 19th century tiles on the floor all gave us moments of awe for the mastermind behind such decor. We stayed there for 4 nights and all day and night the Arabian sea went on telling its tale as if she is some loquacious woman who loves speaking a lot. The staffs at the resort received us with great warmth and also our taste buds got delighted with the mouth watering dishes prepared by Murugan. The afternoon before the day we left, we experienced the most beautiful sunset we have ever seen till date. Sitting under the shade at the dining space of the resort, with a hot cup of coffee and a camera we watched quietly the movie going on. With the sky as the endless screen, the setting sun on the sparkling sea as the protagonists, the wind and the roar of the sea as the music director, there was no doubt that the show was super-hit. Slowly the evening set in, stars came out like sparkling diamonds while the sea sang on its song for us. This resort and its location is perfect for any wandering soul seeking some guidance. I am looking forward to visit again besides telling many of my close friends to go and spend their weekends at sea-shell resort, far from the maddening crowd of the city and at the lap of the gurgling sea.

We checked into Seashell in October. Booked two of the top rooms with excellent views. It is a very quaint property with touches of antique and modern. The service and ambience was very homely.

The food speactacular and mouthwatering.. just like home...Every meal was different and delectable... The staff was very courteous and sweet. They took care of our every food whim, not easy with two hungry boys who wanted to snack everytime they returned from the beach.

Mr Haris (senior) and Shijin (the owner) always made it a point to check with us every evening during dinner if all was good. They were softspoken and courteous and helped us get transport and direct us to shopping areas. However, it would be even better if the management was a better at organizational skills — small things, like the staff always forgot spoons or rooms not being cleaned during the stay — that would make it an even more pleasant stay.

The beach views are awesome.. there were fishermen out at sea, you could see the catch too if you woke up early. Despite it being an open beach area, there were hardly any outsiders in the beach. There were many alcoves and even quieter zones amongst the beautiful brown-maroon rocks that dotted the beach.

We saw spectacular sunsets and fauna. The greenery around the resort was breathtaking. Great quiet place to relax...

Thank you Mr Haris and Shijin for making it on the whole a very wonderful relaxing holiday for us. ... Definitely recommend this "differently quaint" set up to all. ~ Bhatias and V Kurup

Room Tip: Take any of the top rooms that have the best views...

Hello All,

We had been to Harris SeaShell Beach Resort in the month of Oct-2013. We were a group of 17 family members. We stayed for 3 days at the resort and had a beautiful time. We never felt or realized how time flew bye and we did nothing apart from eat, play and relax in the resort. We were feeling dejected to leave the resort at the end of our stay.

Father son duo took care of us like their own family members and we would love to visit this place again. One area of improvement would be regarding food. They need to serve sufficient quantity of Non-Veg items as we were gultons by appettie.

Thanks
Trilesh

Thank You Trilesh for accepting our hospitality. We are pleased to know that you had a great experience at our resort! These kind words of yours is indeed a source of motivation to the staff and management. About the food there is a specific quantity to be served for a dish and hope we have served a good quantity itself . Will try to serve more on your next visit.
. Awaiting to welcome you for your next visit!!

There is an old adage in real estate which says when you buy always consider, first location, second location and third location. Standing atop of a low rock cliff, overlooking a coconut fringed quiet bay not far from the north Keralan town of Kannur is where you will find ShijinHaris's Guest Home. I guess Seashells Beach Resort provides the impression of the location but this place has many attributes, the two main ones being it's location which is well away from the noise of traffic and honking horns and the only noise to lull you to sleep is the waves rolling onto the beach. The second main attribute is the customer service given by Mr Haris and his family, really nothing is too much trouble and if you like Keralan food then you are in for a treat. For overseas visitors this place provides excellent value for money, as an example staying early in October for three nights with breakfast lunch and dinner was $150 in total. The beds are firm, there is air-con and overhead fans in the rooms and the bathroom has western style toilets and hot and cold running water. Our room also had a small patio area for looking out over the bay. You will need a GPS, or knowledgeably driver to find the place, our driver just kept asking locals until we eventually found it, I would say this is a good thing because its isolation means you will probably have the beach to yourselves apart from a few local fisherman who are probably catching the fish or prawns you will have for your lunch or dinner! Overall a good choice for staying around Kannur.

Room Tip: The corner room on the second floor has a good view.

The general consensus on reviews here is good to very good and so is ours. I owe this to the owners who take personal care to treat everyone alike with warmth and care. Their sense of individual customer requirements is BANG ON, and thats what makes foreigners, indians from south, north or localities very happy. God Bless you guys.
