What should have been a great day out was spoilt by adverse weather so couldn't go on to shipwreck island but did see it as close as boat could safely go

This beach is quite unigue place to visit. You can reach it only by boat. Boat trips you will find from different ports of Zakynthos. We took boat from Porto Vromi. The trip cost was 20,-€/Person and we got also a reduction of 5,-€ as the Hotel guest of Mabely Grand Hotel.

They took us staraight to the Shipwreck Beach and the time of boat trip was apr 20 min. We stayed at the beach about 1 hour and came back with different boat which sailed by the cost line and went also in couple of caves. We didn’t have opportunity to snorkle at this trip because of rough sea. We supposed that snorkeling could be possible If weather is good.

This trip was very nice but the only bad thing was that the beach was all too overcrowded. There was boat coming one after another and with too much tourists so the beach was full. We suppose the evening times might be much more quiet ? Notice the picture taken from up from the hill has been taken at evening time apr 6 pm.

A must see for anyone visiting the island. Shipwreck cove is only accessible by sea, shop around to book your trip. I paid 22 euros for a 4 hour trip to the cove and blue caves. Definitely the best 22 euros spent all holiday. Beware though the holiday reps charge 46 for the same trip. There are booths/shops selling these trips all trustworthy with organised coach pickups and drop offs. The colour of the water at the cove will stay in my memory forever.

If you are around you have to visit Navagio Beach, it's a must see in Zakynthos. The waves are very powerful if you want to swim and it can be a bit crowded. The limestone pebbles are nice and rounded and the color of the sea is peaceful.
