Our favourite restaurant. It is run by a lovely couple - Jim in the kitchen and Vanna front-of-house. This guarantees excellent food and a warm welcome, as both are excellent at their role. The soup changes daily (and Jim might be the best soup-maker in the world) and there is enough variety on the menu to suit every taste. Prices are very reasonable whether for a full lunch or just a coffee and cake. This is not a 5-star haute cuisine restaurant and the prices reflect that. It is also closed after 5pm, so don't turn up for evening dinner! Vanna and Jim and their staff make children very welcome - well, they just make everyone very welcome. The reviewer who found the food "expensive and uninspiring" is simply wrong. Highly recommended!
