“Chocolate box Beautiful traditional English country pub at Blickling hall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

What a perfectly beautiful place to spend time in the countryside setting of Blickling hall .

Fantastic selection of local foods on the menu

We visited on a hot summers day late July with family from abroad before strolling around the gardens of Blickling Hall . A lovely afternoon spent eating outside on the spacious pub lawns, meandering over lunch with a few drinks in this traditional "English country pub "at it's very best .made me proud to be British

Stayed here with family for a nearby christening. We stayed for three nights b&b and had a wonderful stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very at home.We booked a family room with a lovely four poster bed and two camp beds for the children. The room was was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of Blickling Hall from our window.
The food was fantastic. We had one evening meal on the first night...the scallops were out of this world!!. Breakfast was lovely and fresh.
Location is great too, only half an hour away from Cromer for a great traditional seaside family day...crabbing followed by fish and chips!
I would recommend the Bucks Arms to anyone...AAA++

I chose this venue because it is near the start of the Blickling Parkrun and I fancied a weekend built around that. In fact the meeting point for the Parkrun is left out of the front door and 2 minutes walk away. Can't get much closer than that. The park around Blickling is beautiful and
I would recommend it to runners and walkers alike. Breakfast after the run was very welcome and it was great that the staff were happy to wait for us. The staff are young, enthusiastic and helpful. Room 3 was huge with views over Blickling, a 4 poster bed and an armchair each. Talking of huge, the portions at all the meals were huge and the quality good. I gather the owners' have a reputation for that so they can't be losing money. We had a lovely time and I would stay again.

Room Tip: Room 3 probably has the best view of Blickling Hall.

The Bucks Arms overlooks the majestic Blickling Hall, one off he finest houses in Norfolk. We had a drink in the Bucks Arms after our visit and was so impressed that we booked a nights stay. Our room overlooked Blickling Hall which was beautifully lit at night. The room was spacious complete with four poster bed. The food was really good, catering very well for my wife's gluten and wheat intolerance. The staff were so friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble which made our stay exceptional.

My wife and I stopped here this Saturday and both sat in the garden, ordering two meals from the lighter eating menu, I had the Swannington Pork Baguette with Hand Cut Chips and my partner Chicken and Bacon Caesar Salad. The meats were thickly cut and totally melt in the mouth. the quality of the food was was excellent. We have visited Blickling before and just walked on by, however next time we will definitely making a return visit and have recommended it to our friends.

Two of us stayed for two nights in March and after a long day working in Blickling Hall across the road couldn't have found a better place to stay and to eat (which we did both nights). The staff were very friendly, the rooms spotless, the rooms were generous sized with very comfortable four-poster beds with goose feather duvets and pillows (although they also offered synthetic ones for people with allergies). There is enough room to sit and work if you need to, wifi if you want to check emails (very useful as there is limited mobile reception at Blickling) and in my room a huge bath in a large bathroom (my colleague's room had a shower). We had been warned by the National Trust staff not to attempt three courses as the portions were so generous - the first night I managed a main course only and the second just a starter and salad, so when we return to finish the job this month I am determined to reach the puddings! Overall we had an extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay and it made me want to come back to visit with my husband when I could enjoy beautiful Blickling as a visitor.

Room Tip: The room with a shower had a lovely view of Blickling Hall from the windows.

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime. The premises are situated right next to Blickling Hall and the area was busy with people visiting there. We arrived just after midday and the car park was nearly full so i guess some visiting the Hall were using it even though the Hall has it's own car park.We had booked in advanced so getting our table was ok. We were seated quickly and it was busy already. Had to ask for drinks as staff were busy but was not much of a problem. We ordered food and didn't have to wait long. The food is in generous portions and of a very high standard so we were well happy. The staff are very friendly and do work hard. All in all a good lunch out but i would advise booking your table in advance.
