Interesting short stay a few weeks ago. Owner Richard varied from friendly and helpful to... defensive and less-than-helpful. The "private patio" outside select rooms is creatively landscaped with healthy tropical vegetation (including what appeared to be an enormous collard green plant). Of course, this patio is not at all private, with a scanty patch of vegetation separating one patio from the next. The beach is beautiful and expansive but only accessible from the public beach access that runs parallel to the motel. Our room and "full kitchen", however, were (at best) quite-average. The counter area, range, and sink...... had surely seen better days.
Two pillows, one sheet (as a cover), and a printed bedspread (that you would not wish to attempt to cover yourself with) almost made you want to crank on the heating and ventilating unit....but that (I believe) is not quite compatible with the spirit of a beach excursion.
Good price and respectable ocean view. I've been on Florida beaches (from the Gulf to the Atlantic) for over a half-century and have always loved the older Florida "beach" rentals that remind me of a time(decades back) when condos did not exist and one could step out onto the sand(not into an elevator), .take a dip, and pull a chain to shower (outside of your place) before re-entering your room. However,...I'll search for something a tad more quaint on my next Atlantic Ocean visit.More
