“Absolutely perfect for what we needed”
Reviewed 11 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We used these cottages to put up our guests when we got married, and to have our reception as they are remarkably spacious. Our guests were thrilled to bits. The cottages are impeccably clean, homely, tastefully decorated, comfortable, and with a very big, well equipped kitchen.
Rob and Chris really went the extra mile to make us feel special, and were able to accommodate our requests. We wholeheartedly recommend these cottages, and the excellent pub next door.

“Well accommodated, lovely holiday rental”

Well what can I say.. What a lovely place to stay!!!

The price for this lovely cottage is outstanding, when organising a getaway for a large group it allowed us to include lots more activities within budget.

This large house is situated down a country lane.. Something we are not used to here in London. When we arrived we were welcomed and our party leader was shown around the house. The owner was extremely pleasant and provided a welcome pack consisting of items for breakfast etc.

The house was large and all rooms were tastefully decorated with plenty of seating and bedding for our large party. Most importantly the house was clean.. I was staying in the turquoise room which contained a safe (another nice bonus). The only downside for me was that the bath in the bathroom was a little unreliable (low water pressure and cold water) when all showers and bathrooms were being used at the same time. This was not the case when it was used on its own.

There is a pub right at the back of the house (through a gate), the food looked and smelled lovely. We were unable to have lunch here due to a private function at the time, however we were welcomed back in a couple of hours to eat. However the next day, when we were departing for home the man working in the pub was rather awkward when he blocked the minivan in unnecessarily - but this review is not about them (just be wary).

If you are like us and a little crazy you could take the mile or so long walk down the country lanes to the beefeater - Cheap, cheerful and filling.

We were able to order a shop from Asda to arrive at the house which arrived in good time (I thoroughly recommend this if you are dropped off like we were).

If the hospitality of the owners in the lush country settings were not enough the owner even took the time to send back the items that were left behind accidentally.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the owners for offering this wonderful accommodation and for making it feel like a home away from home. You have done a great job! :)

“Perfect & HIGHLY recommended”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Have just come back from staying a weekend at this cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone. It is extremely large & spacious. There were 12 of us staying (all girls) and there were enough beds for us all (doubles were shared between 2) and ample towels, bathrooms/shower facilities. We were never 'queueing' for the shower/bath. Upon arrival we were made to feel extremely welcome with complimentary eggs, milk, bread & essentials. There were even miniature shampoo, conditioner & shower gels. LLocation wise, it's approx 15 minute car journey from Cardiff centre which caused us no trouble in the slightest. The house is in a really quiet & beautiful location. I would highly recommend this house for hire & would definitely stay here again. Value for money is exceptional.

“Such a lovely cottage, couldn't ask for more!”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

My self and a group of ladies have just stayed in the derwen Cottage this weekend just gone (7th-9th Feb)

well it was such a lovely cottage!!!

Owners made us feel very welcome.

When we arrived we had been left a welcome pack of essentials such as Milk, Bread, Eggs, Cheese etc.
Along with towels for everyone and shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom!
All the rooms and bathrooms were spotless!
As a large single sex group most places wouldn't rent to us but Drewen Cottages did and we had such a lovely weekend!

I will definitely use the cottage again if i was to go back to Cardiff and would recommend to everyone!!!
