We ate here both nights we were in McCarthy as it was pretty much the only place open. I have a very restricted diet due to breast-feeding baby allergies, and they were very nice to check and find me a meal to eat. We had the Creole shrimp dish, along with burgers and salad. The burger was satisfying after a long day on the trail and the shrimp dish was tasty and actually spicy, which can be tough to find in Alaska! Lots of beers were available. The atmosphere is very casual so we were comfortable bringing our baby and in fresh off the trail (aka not very fresh!). Prices were very cheap considering it is a) Alaska and b) close to nothing so everything needs to be grown there or brought in. My one complaint was the service was a bit slow and we had to track her down to get water refills. I would have thought since everyone in the place had been outside hiking, etc all day, water would have been top priority there to keep everyone happy! Other than the slower service, food was very good and we would definitely recommend it for dinner.
