“Scenic Flight Seeing”
Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

We used Wrangler Mountain Air service to McCarthy / Kennicott , AK flying out of Chitina , AK.
The service is safe and very reliable. The flights over and back are very scenic with commentary from the pilot. Each person is allowed approximately 30lbs of cargo. The flight over and back were both comfortable and loaded with lots of great pic taking opportunities. Yes we would use Wrangler next time.

“Great”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

I did the fly in glacier hike. Don was the pilot and he was SO good. I felt completely safe all the time. And the flight is incredibly scenic. One warning - the website says you should be able to walk 5 miles on "relatively level" ground. Relatively level for a goat! The trail had many strenuous uphills in both directions. But, the scenery was breathtaking and well worth the effort.

“Great pilots”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

We fly on a rainly day so it was a bit bumpy, but that couldn't be helped. Both of our pilots were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Loved hearing the scary bear stories! Would definitely use them again. The whole process from setting up our reservations to our actual flights was so easy. Everyone was helpful.

“30th Anniversary Alaska Trip”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

This was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Alaska. We stayed a couple of nights in Chitina and had planned on riding our motorcycles to McCarthy. At the last minute we discovered there was no gas in Chitina so we found ourselves looking for other alternatives. We could not get in touch with the shuttle so on the advise of the owner of the B&B we called Wrangell Mountain Air. It was 8:00 am and they had two seats available for the 9:05 flights and seats for the afternoon return. In our haste to get to the airport I missed the turnoff and we were 10 minutes late getting to the airport, but to our surprise the planes were just finishing loading. It was a beautiful clear morning and the flights were so smooth. The pilots were wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate us and to inform us of all the sights to see along the way. The DNR was also flying that morning counting sheep so we were able to communicate with them and spot several sheep that we might not of seen otherwise. Seeing the mountains, rivers an glaciers from the air added another totally different perspective to the trip. We will definitely do this again when we return to Alaska.

“Couldn't have been better”
Reviewed 20 September 2013

In June I went on 2 flightseeing trips around the glaciers. Both pilots were extremely personable and well informed. Their piloting skills were impressive as we flew in close enough to see Dall sheep climbing about. They are in frequent contact with ground control which contributes to feeling safe. In order to appreciate the stunning beauty of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park it is really necessary to get up into the air.

In September I took their roundtrip flight from Chitina to McCarthy and back. Again, the pilot was professional and informative, pointing out things to look at along the way. Wrangell Mountain Air is top notch.
