If you need to stay at a hotel near Oxford the Premier Inn at Didcot should be your first choice. Reception service was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Room quality was excellent. I had a very good nights sleep

After a long days travel it was great to relax in this hotel. We enjoyed the meal and the service was good. Our group enjoyed the breakfast and we were ready to complete our journey. I would visit it again.

Booked a couple of nights as a base to visit Oxford and the surrounding area. Check in was somewhat chaotic with 2 members of staff available, but instead of using their laptops to check guests in, they used the self check in machines, rather than letting those who wanted to use them do so , and freeing themselves up to assist those who couldn’t or didn’t want to self check in , a minor point I suppose. The room was ok, as usual at Premier Inn, but the bed was only a double and not a king size, and we were right at the front which meant there was a lot of noise from the road and guests coming and going. (Why do people have to shout across the car park at midnight?) .A room around the back would have been nearer the main A34 so not much quieter I guess, but we did know the location when we booked so can't really complain.

We had intended to eat out both nights we were there, but after a long day we decided we would give the pub attached to the hotel a go. It wasn't particularly busy, but we had to wait 20 minutes after being seated before we were offered a drink, another 10 minutes before the drinks arrived and a further 10 minutes before our starters arrived. The starters were ok and plates cleared promptly, but no main course was forthcoming. Looking around, other tables were waiting for lengthy periods as well but at least they were being served! It was obvious that the pub was short staffed (there were vacancy notices in the bar area), and as I have worked in pubs/restaurants myself I understand the issues that this brings. However, after half an hour and no one asking if we were waiting I asked the manager if he could find out where our food was, he came back and said it would be 5 minutes, a further 15 minutes later it appeared. The food itself was ok (what you would expect for this type of establishment) but the best part of 2 hours for some garlic mushrooms and a burger?

To their credit the waiter did apologise for the delay, and when the bill came they didn't charge for one if the main courses, by way of compensation which redeemed them somewhat.

As somewhere to stay as a stop off on the A34 the hotel is ok, there is a Mc Donald’s on site and an M&S food at the BP station next door so you don’t need to eat in the Pub.

Would have given a better rating had the service been more organised, but won’t stop here again.

First time at a Premier Inn, and I wasn't disppointed. In fact I couldn't fault the stay one bit. A nice clean room with excellent bedding, good shower and large tv. a great breakfast had both mornings and a warm welcome. The member of staff on reception on arrival proved so helpful and friendly throughout our stay and was a real credit to the team. First Class.

I booked the hotel on their website and paid upfront as this was the cheapest deal. I also prepaid for 2 full English breakfasts. The hotel is really easy to find, just off the A34. Our room was comfortable and clean and the staff welcoming. We chose not to eat our dinner at the Table Table restaurant which is attached to the hotel as there were several poor reviews on Trip Advisor so we went elsewhere. Breakfast on the other hand which is also served in the Table Table was very good - all self service. The hotel is situated in a service area off the A34 but you do not have to pay for parking - just get a chitty from the hotel reception. Would definitely stay here again.
