“Friendly, welcoming and beautiful in a peaceful setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2013

For four days we were treated to expert and relaxed hospitality. The room was large, clean and comfortable and discreetly made up everyday. Darren is a truly welcoming host who caters for all needs. He is on hand for local information, places to visit and suggestions for walks. The breakfasts were sumptuous, varied, generous and prepared wonderfully. We would recommend this little gem of a B&B to anyone and will definitely be returning.

This B&B is an unassuming house, tucked down a gravel driveway - but it was a more pleasant, welcoming stay than most 4 / 5* hotels.
It's a short (10 min / £7 cab fare) to the airport, making it one of the most accessible places to stay if you are flying out early, or arriving late. The owner, Darren, is friendly and helpful, and cooks a tasty breakfast. We stayed in the largest room, which was spacious but still cosy, and has the nice bonus of a HUGE whirlpool bath - very welcome after a long haul flight.
Stayed three nights in total, and would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Only stayed in the largest (Deluxe) room - would recommend it if it's free!

Our host Darren could not have been more helpful. Everything and everywhere was clean and bright, the breakfast was just as ordered the night before and was excellent. Our host is a true professional!

We stayed for only one night while up at Fort George for Historic Scotland's annual Celebration of the Centuries. Darren, the owner, made us very welcome, our accommodation was very comfortable and we had a very tasty breakfast. We now have a firm note of the contact details of this B&B safely stored for future trips. Highly recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: This B&B is very conveniently located for a trip to nearby Fort George, the Cheese Factory, Inve...

We only spent one night at this B&B but it appears to be a good place for more... We arrived around 9.30 pm and had breakfast at 5 am, but that tight schedule didn't bother our host who provided us with a consistent and tasty breakfast! By the way he welcome us very nicely and helped us with minor logistical problems. The accomodation was comfortable and clean, with a nice view on the sea...

The accomodation was generally very well appointed and the host generally amiable. Had some trouble sleeping because of noisy floor joists in next room. The breakfasts were tiny, every item seemed to be grudged to the point of being a prisoner and nothing like as shown in the photo on the website. A request for an extra slice of toast to augment the tiny amount allocated was met with a sullen grudged compliance. My advice would be to order 'everything on the list as per website photo'.

Room Tip: bring a supply of extra food to supplement breakfast.

I am sorry that you felt disappointed by breakfast - as you can see from reviews before and after yours, this is most unusual! I suspect that you ordered much less than you actually wanted, and I would have been happy to rectify that if you had mentioned it at the time. You will be aware that I was responsive, accommodating a very late check-in by providing tea and biscuits on request. I hope that you did not feel that this spoiled your experience of the area, and would of course welcome you back on another occasion with the hope of offering you the experience enjoyed by other guests.

We stayed in the room without the en-suite. It and the private bathroom were immaculate and generously sized. All rooms have a superb view of the Moray Firth. Good wi-fi was a blessing after previous places we stayed at. Darren made us feel very welcome.
