The cakes, are average, perhaps a little too rich, and defintely not french. Just because the owners mother, went to a baking course does not make her a expert in cakes....I have had a few cakes, that were totally overpriced, and definetely far too rich. The coffee cold, and the owner of the place, rude and temperamental. I will definetely not go back there or send him business again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We ended up going here twice on the same day because we liked it so much. I ate a delicious quiche straight from the oven, sandwiches are also very good, as is the coffee! It's family run, everything is home made, and the service is super friendly.

Every time we visit Kefalonia we try to find a new place to eat and this year we discovered Chocolatata. We stay in Trapezaki on our visits and by choice we don't usually spend much time in Argostoli. Discovering Chocolatata changed that in a big way - we visited Argostoli most days after making all manner of weak excuses to drive the 10 miles into the capital for cake and coffee.

The café is open all day and serves home made cakes and puddings, sandwiches, wine, beer, coffee and soft drinks. All of this is served by charming staff and the guy who owns the place is one of the nicest people we've met on the island (a lot of the locals we know spoke very highly of him too). His mum makes all of the desserts and they are something to behold - everything we had was perfect and accompanied by excellent coffee.

There are 4/5 tables outside on the pavement and another 2/3 inside. To find it you need to drive into Argostoli along the seafront - look out for the Tourist Hotel and when you see it get ready to turn left at the Piraeus Bank - the café is immediately on the right next to Body Shop.

The big bonus for us was that the café is open from early to late and stays open during siesta so we could go there whenever it suited us. Absolutely loved the cakes and the staff and can't wait to visit again on our return
