We have used this Wetherspoons for years, mainly for lunch, and always considered it to be a normal Wetherspoons but on a recent visit we were impressed with the three members of staff on duty. They were extremely polite and efficient. The tables were cleared and cleaned very quickly (unusual for a Wetherspoons) and the young man who was doing this even rearranged the seating for an older couple to have a better table. Well done the "Team". As a lunch time stop for a good beer and a cheap lunch we can recommend this pub.

Not my favourite Wetherspoons! I usually don't like chains or corporate venues but I have to say this place has improved.
The new Wetherspoons menu and licensing hours have helped there is no doubt and the place still lacks any real character but the young staff there are friendly and helpful and the prices extremely good.
It unpretentious, they are a business and you are a customer, you get what you go for, good value and a pretty wide choice of good beers, where your custom is appreciated which isn't the case in some local pubs these days?
It's worth a visit, just wish there was some way of giving it more character....some plants maybe??

I have eaten here twice in recent weeks. The first time was an absolute disaster, our food was forgotten about, then when it did come out it the burgers were burnt, my mixed grill was overcooked and the chips tasted like they had been through the fryer at least twice. However, the manager found out about our poor service and offered us free meals if we were to visit again. The following visit, was very good indeed, the food was very tasty the staff were attentive and helpful and it has restored our faith in the place. I will be returning at some stage and will be interested to see how that turns out.

A small group of us went for food and drink. However when we were there the staff were rude and slow. They didnt want to be there. Apart from a guy called stephen. He had passion and was very helpful! He deserves a pay rise!
