“Enjoyable Stay”
Reviewed 23 April 2009

Our two night stay was a pleasant surprise in view of previous comments about this hotel. It is small but the quality is not. Situated centrally, within a two minute walk of Clark's Shopping Village and Street centre. Our room was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed and en-suite facilities. Slightly dated but this did not detract from the ambiance of the building, which only added to its cosy, comfortable feel. Very interesting windows! We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and the breakfasts were a real treat with plenty on our plates. We were only staying on a bed and breakfast basis but feel sure their evening meals would have been just as inviting. We would definitely stay at Mullions again and would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

We were there in June, cottage feel to the hotel and we were told it was family run. Nice resturaunt with interesting menu, the best rooms were on the ground floor but they were all taken, told that they always sell first.First floor rooms are being up-graded,but comfortable.Good car parking and convienient for the towns attractions, mainly shopping. Average cost for good bed and breakfast about 60 pounds ,pleasant staff and helpful, will use this hotel again

I stayed in one of the unmodernised rooms on the second floor. It was rather charmless with dated decor, cheap carpet and creaky floors. There was no hairdryer and no TV remote. The bathroom was OK.
The service was abrupt, maybe just verging onto rude. The staff seemed to be under pressure, but certainly not from anything we did. Breakfast was adequate, but not very good.
For £60 each per night it should have been a better experience. I've stayed in better places for half the money. The hotel is well located, and I suppose that makes for a bit of complacency. It should try a bit harder.

This place was awful - arrived to be greeted with "sorry you can't eat here tonight we have a party in ". Terrible decor, nervous about using the shower that looked as tho' it was ready to collapse. Creaky floors! Unfriendly staff. Overcharged on checkout charged for a family room - not requested - and when queried - the staff member picked up the phone and asked someone to come down as someone is querying their bill. Bill corrected with a sigh!!!! The staff most definately need training in customer service. A pleasant smile costs nothing!

So a trip in to the unknown. A town with no hotels on Trip Advisor. Picked this out of 3 on the same street by looking at their web entries.

This one is centrally located with good parking. Welcomed at a rather odd reception hatch that you might mistake for something else. This is located by the back entrance from the car park rather than the from on the main street.

I had booked a single by phone but was persuaded to take a double, at my expense, on arrival. Probably more roomy. Plenty of storage space. Bed comfortable. Bathroom rather oddly laid out up some steps basin in front toilet left, shower, no bath, right.

Some wifi available in refurbished rooms although not in my room which wasnt. I think their web site says others will be refurbished too.

Despite overllooking the main street noise was not an issue.

Breakfast was excellent although it finished at 9.00 on all weekdays which I thought a bit early, 9.30 at weekends. Freshly cooked food to order was most welcome and is often not found at more exclusive properties than this. The service was excellent.

We stayed for one nght in a twin room at the top of the hotel. The room didn't look anything like the pictures of the rooms on the web site and it hadn't had any new furniture for a long time. Even the TV dated from a time before remote controls were introduced. I wouldn't stay there again.

Stayed here for a wedding. The room was ok however the bed was way past it's sell by date. When we reported this the next day the hotel staff were very unhelpful. I'm not moaning over a little thing I am very easy going, but the mattress was non existant and really uncomfortable and we were made to feel terrible for speaking out.

Additionally, a friend who travelled with us from London turned up and found he had no booking. Again, the staff were very unhelpful and couldn't care less that he had no where to stay.
Luckily he found a place in the Bull Hotel 2 mins up the road who were the most helpful and accommodation people.

I would say, use the Bull and not Mullions.
