Without the slightest doubt one of the best meals I've had anywhere, ever.
Excellent and welcoming service, and food that was simply splendid. There was a lot to choose from on the menu, and ended up plumping for something a bit different - crocodile and warthog carpaccio. It was beautifully presented and exquisitely tasty. Judging by the satisfied faces of my colleagues it would have been largely irrelevant what I'd chosen such was the quality. Main course was from the specials - Springbok - and again possibly the best cooked meat I've ever had, then topped off with a pinotage and berry sorbet.
Simply cannot fault the evening.
Brilliant

The owners and our hosts at the ostrich manor recomended this excellent restaurant.
We had a superb lunch, top quality food and wines. It is a must to visit if you are in the hartebeespoort area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at the Silver Orange Bistro. Menu had a good selection of dishes. I particularly enjoyed the scallops starter and the seafood stew. No complaints about the service and we enjoyed the quaint ambiance.

This bistro is an easy scenic hour's drive from Joburg, making it an ideal venue for breakfast, or lunch if you pick a designated booze free driver.

The restaurant is on a citrus farm and the view from the picture window next to our table was across a parklike lawn onto the edge of the orchard of fruit laden orange trees. The atmosphere in the dining room is set by the decor, rustic face brick, mosaic panels, fire place, pristine white table cloths, bright glassware, and by the warm, well stocked, and inviting bar at the entrance.

The manageress was civil (neither welcoming nor rude) on our arrival and departure, our waitress was a charming daughter of a local farmer, who attended a nearby highschool.
The coffee, offered and brought immediately, was good, if only partially filling the cups. My request for orange juice was denied, apparently it is too much trouble to pick a few oranges from the visible abundance on the orchard trees, and to quickly squeeze a few glassesfull.

Our breakfast was acceptable but not remarkable, except for the beautiful presentation and the originality of adding a crisp, home made, cracker to the plate. The omlette was generously filled with smoked salmon, pepperdews and cream cheese, delicious, but the egg was overcooked and dry. The serving of scrambled eggs was generous and topped by an equally generous quantity of smoked salmon. The accompanying toast was of seed bread from a major retailer. The generosity of the house was emphasised by the pair of cream scones brought to our table when the bill was presented.

Four stars dropped to three by the less than enthusiastic reception, the denied orange juice, and the commercial bread. But we would go back
