Description: The lodge is situated high up the Magaliesberg mountain just below the solid rock face. The downward flowing gorges are softened only by a blanket of shrubs, grasses and trees which have grown over millennia, watered by the purest, cleanest water imaginable and today left to graze on by countless antelope resident on the farm. It is only when you drive in the gate of Leopard Lodge that you realise what has been left behind. The main lodge building houses the reception rooms, restaurant, bar, conference rooms and large verandah with adjoining boma. The lodge has a peaceful atmosphere situated near Hartbeespoort Dam although it is just a short 55km drive from the hustle and bustle of Sandton and 60km from Pretoria. So, pop in for a visit - come and experience our fantastic view of the dam and the valley below - wow! Our restaurant boasts a delightful A la Carte Menu and full bar service is available. We cater for weddings, conferences and functions.

Located on the foothills of the gorgeous Magaliesberg mountain range the Leopard lodge is located. Because of it's higher altitude you've got a beautiful view over the Hartbeespoortdam lake. Besides the perfect location the is the venue itself very nice and staff very friendly. Food is lovely and the whole atmosphere great. Will definitely go back!

I was fortunate enough to stay at Leopard lodge a couple of weeks ago. Only being a 45 minute drive from Fourways I felt as if I was a million miles away from the city. With a panoramic view of the Hartbeespoort damn and mountains and the tranquillity only being broken by the calls of the birds it was a true mini escape from reality. The food was delicious with a wide variety to choose from and the staff were willing to go out of their way to assist me in my requests. On the morning we left the venue was being set up for a wedding later in the day and looked exquisite. I will certainly be returning as soon as I have a chance.

I recently stayed at the lodge - asking for THE honeymoon suite at the Lodge only to be put into `another honeymoon suite`. Aside from the `other suite` not having fridge, tv, not having a bath, not having enough hot water for 2 people to shower, a rattling aircon, not having a jacuzzi that works or with a view, etc... We were told that the if they had known about the jacuzzi that didn`t work they would have had it fixed - the biggest disappointment is this, the management DID know about the problems in the `other suite`!!!! Since the stay we have read other reviews on this site with exactly the same problems along with a jacuzzi that doesn`t work dating from March. Clearly, the customer is of no concern to these people and they are quite prepared to simply refund you if you complain. It is such a beautiful spot that clearly does not deserve this level of management!

Having seen pictures of "the honeymoon suite", with a wooden deck, jacuzzi and view of the dam on their website, that is what were thought we were booking when we asked for it. Apparently there are 2 "honeymoon suites" - the second one (which we were booked into at the lodge managers discretion) having a view of the building next door and a Jacuzzi at the back of the unit. We were automatically booked into the Pumula suite aka their other "honeymoon suite", with a broken/cold Jacuzzi and no view of the dam as advertised on the website. Little effort was made to rectify the situation, telling us it was our fault for reserving the incorrect suite - however, we were never given the option of "which honeymoon suite" we would like. Neither did we receive the unit we requested nor did we get a working Jacuzzi. No attempt was made to fix the Jacuzzi, with an "oh well, I wonder when it broke" attitude expressed by the owner.
The 4 star "second honeymoon suite" has a tiny shower with a geyser supplying only 5 minutes worth of hot water, no bath, no TV, no bar fridge, no fireplace, an uncomfortable second hand couch which had been recovered, a noisy/rattling AC/heater installed right next to the bed, a double bed (no extra length) and no privacy as admitted by the owner (the Pumula suite is part of the "Kaya" self catering complex).
We were offered a complementary night in the "real honeymoon suite", however due to a lack of professionalism an inability to provide excellent customer service we will not be returning, and do not wish that anyone else experiences the same service and disappointment that we experienced.
