We arrived at about 7.30 in the morning, due to flight options and our room was not meant to be available until 4.00 in the afternoon. However, the reception staff let us use a room that was unoccupied to have a shower and change and arranged for our room to be ready for us at 11.00. That might not always be possible of course, but we were impressed. After showering and donning loose clothing and swimming gear we were able to have a leisurely breakfast and then a walk around the resort, quick swim ,etc before going to our room!

Those who have said the resort is secluded should have realised this before going. We hired a car which gave us freedom to travel around the area. In this respect it was a really good location. Trips to Bafa Lake, Bodrum, Kusadasi, etc. were all easily done by car and it was not that expensive. Furthermore, the roads were better than others I have seen on my travels, although they did take a while to get used to.

We had been warned that a drive to Ephesus and Pammukale would be long and arduous so we booked an excursion for both. Next time we will drive ourselves though, as it was not that bad, if you are happy driving and we did not like the fact that we were hurried in order to meet the excursion company's time frames. Our guide to Ephesus was however excellent!

We found plenty to do there apart from getting a good tan. My husband managed 2 dives while we were there and the lazy boat trips were good value and a lot of fun, so we went twice! They leave from CLC's own jetty on the resort.

Azbuk, the nearest town is small and not that touristy (yet), so if you are expecting Marmaris, you will be disappointed. However, we liked it as it was compact and very very friendly. We had some good meals there for not much money as well. Look at Azbuk Bob on the internet for helpful reviews of eateries.

One "special" meal we had was a very basic one of fish from the fresh fish stall on the main road through Azbuk....no frills, plastic tables, etc, so not resturant standard, accommodation -wise. but the fish was cooked by the father with the son waiting and the mother fussing when they did not do things "right" in her opinion and making sure we got plenty of bread, salad, etc. It was well cooked, plentiful, inexpensive and we felt like we were really eating with friends, which made it special. Each time after that when were in Azbuk they would wave and call to us like old friends...that was so much better than the restaurants on the resort for us...but again it depends what you like!

There are a couple of good supermarkets for stocking up with food at Azbuk and the open air weekly market was huge. Although many folk recommended the "bigger" market at Didim, I found them actually quite comparable, so no worries if you can not get to Didim! As well as the "genuine fakes" they had fantastic fresh (and inexpensive) local veg and fruit, fish, spices, etc.

The resort is of a very good standard and I especially liked the double bed-sized loungers and giant cushions for soaking up the rays. Our room was large, modern, comfortable and well-equipped, as well as clean. Our maid made us flower "sculptures", which she placed on our bed, which was a nice touch.

All in all brilliant and i would go again!

Spent one week at Apollonium Club with CLC in early October. It's a beautiful resort in a quiet and fairly isolated location. The minibus transfer from Bodrum airport takes about an hour through winding, rough country roads (through beautiful scenery) but those prone to motion-sickness may need to bear this in mind.
We agree with other reviewers about the good food in both the resort Restaurant (esp the Turkish Buffet evening) and the Beach Bar/Grill and we loved the simple but great food in Ali's beach bar.
We did the guided excursion to Ephesus which was very interesting and included an excellent buffet lunch and visits to a jewellery workshop, a leather workshop and a Turkish Delight shop.
The resort staff are charming and helpful and apartment and the entire site are beautifully kept and very clean. The only criticism we had was regarding the very poorly stocked shop. The lack of stock was disappointing and needs to be addressed as there is nowhere else to shop within walking distance (except for the village shop where stock is very hit-and-miss). This was very disappointing as we, like many other guests, hadn’t hired a car and, given that new guests were still arriving when we left, there was no excuse to run stocks down.
The Turkish people we met were very friendly and helpful and we would certainly go back!

The Apollonium itself is a fair resort, lovely location & area - the facilities are all there, it is just a terrible shame that the staff seem to be stunted in their approach to customer service.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning & on our arrival to our apartment we were all thirsty & hungry so set about making refreshments & a snack. When we took out the dishes we needed they were filthy - unwashed & covered in what seemed to be chocolate cake - every single plate & even cups (i sincerely hope that chocolate cake is all it was anyway) The bins had not been emptied & were full of food.
We decided to leave this until the morning, get some sleep & face thins afresh in the morning.
On getting up in the morning we attempted to clean our dishes but first had to deal with the ants that were crawling over the kitchen area, floors & walls. We cleaned our dishes & filled our hot tub in antisipation for total relaxation....... on turning on the jets the tub was filled with limescale that must have built up in the jets, which in turn did not work.
We returned indoors to report this to maintenance along with the fact that the glass in a huge picture hanging over the sofa was broken in half & looking precariously dangerous.
The maintenance engineer attended, did not manage to repair the jets in the hot tub & left the broken picture frame tucked behind the television - great idea when we had a two year old with us!
When we asked for clean towels having had none changed for four days (& of these days we were given four towels between seven people) I was told that we could not have any as these were only changed on the once weekly apartment clean. We even had to trudge over to reception & ask for toilet paper supplies.
We stayed at the resort for two weeks & every day / night used the bars & restaurant - the same staff were on duty each day / night & not once were we approached / recognised or even acknowledged by any staff member - we considered ourselves lucky if they even looked up while we were speaking to them.
It was only on the last day there that we were approached / recognised or even acknowledged by any staff member & this was only due to the fact that there was some kind of meeting being held with heads of CLC & the Apollonium staff clearly wanted to make a good impression at this time.
The entertainment staff would walk around each day & try to encourage people to join in with games / activities & each day they walked past us completely ignoring us - we were a group of two young couples, a child & a middle aged couple so a fair mix - no reason as to why we would not like to join in.
At this point I should be fair & point out that the young gentlemen driving the golf buggies & one security guard were always polite, talkative & spoke to us on a regular basis, making a real effort.
When we had our first appartment clean the housekeeping staff did not change the babies cot - we had to request that this be done. The following morning the babies head, face, neck, shoulder & arm on one side were covered in small bites - nothing like mosquito bites so we reported this as believed they were caused by bed bugs. Reception sent housekeeping to our apartment & it was only by luck that we arrived back to the apartment while the house keepers were there as they were about to treat the cot & its bedding by spraying raid ant killer on it - we actualy had to ask them not to do it.
My future parents in law went to the bar area & ordered a tea & coffee only to be told that the bar had run out of tea - ok, this can happen anywhere, The bar staff went to get more supplies & returned & replenished the tea stocks & continued to serve customers at the bar - my parents in law were still waiting for refreshments 20 minutes later, they had been forgotten as the bar staff were to busy talking to each other & friends.
On another occasion we had to visit another CLC resort with a view to purchasing further points - my in laws are already Gold members.
Both are disabled but were still taken around a building site in Kusadasi - being told that they had to get out of the bus at various locations. We were shown around areas that were so dark the rep asked if any of us had a lighter that she could use to light the way!!
Im no H&S freak but this trip was so dangerous - we were walking by open lift shafts / staircases with sheer drops, electric cables lying & hanging everywhere & with my inlaws using walking aids & a two year old it was a nightmare.
During this journey the baby fell asleep in the back of the bus & on arrival of another point in the tour the rep said that we HAD to get out of the bus & wake the baby. This tour started at 10am & we did not stop for our "lunch" until 16.30! The baby was exhausted.
I could actually go on & write a novel length review on how the staff & service at this resport ruined our holiday - even voicing our concerns made no difference at all, we were sighed at & ignored. The frustration of this was unbearable because as I said the resort & location are lovely.
Since returning home we have made severe complaints to CLC & have been dismissed completely.
Although we voiced our concerns throughout the holiday (& we tried to do this as delicately & diplomatically as possible as we didnt want these issues to spoil our precious tome away) we thought it only fair to address issues as they arose - CLC are claiming that we did not & that they & their staff have no record of our complaints.
This will not end at being dismissed as my partner & myseld had to work & save hard to join our family on this holiday & is likely to be the only holiday we will have for another four years & I do not want others to have their holiday spoiled by something as simple as good customer service.
Shame on CLC staff at this resort.

Overall a good resort very clean and well appointed. You are a bit out of Akbuk, but mini buses run every 30 mins or so - 4.50TL. The staff in the complex were helpful and friendly, and couldnt do enough for you when you had a query. We ate in the restaurant twice for breakfast, which had everything you could want and tasted great. although quite expensive. The apartments were lovely and clean, we stayed in a three bedroom, which was well decorated and had all the home comforts. The only down side to our holiday was the market day (Friday) The sellers were very rude and crude to my Sister - In - Law, but this was the only downside as the other Turkish people we met were lovely and welcoming towards everyone. Yes the market sellers are a bit pushy, but be pushy back they enjoy it and it gets a good bit of banter going. The restaurants in Akbuk serve great food, we tried covent garden and Pasa, both excellent food and atmosphere, In Covent Garden there were a lot of cats hanging around the tables which puts people off, hence we only ate there once - although the waiters did try to chase them away, but they kept coming back. The supermarkets in Akbuk are cheap enough to buy all your food needs if you are self catering.
We went for a day to the new resort of CLC at Kusadasi, taken by "Woody" what a character, he was funny and was up for doing anything that you wanted sightseeing / shopping / bar hopping. We were with my sister / brother in law who are CLC members so I dont really know if you were booking accomodation how much it would be, but all in all a great place to holiday.
We would definately go back!!

The apolloniun was a really nice place but remote as we already new about. the trip over the mountains was fun a bit bumpy but stopped it from being boring,it took about an hr to get there, we would recommend the breakfast at the resort which is a buffet and eat as much as you want for 15lira . we spent a lot of the time at ali's bar which was just along the beech this is a must efes at 3.50 for a large bottle and food was cooked to order salad and rice was yum the fish and steak was really nice. the people there was very friendly and you was greeted by the dog charcoal who follows you when you left chickens were running around and a flock of sheep roaming.we went on the lazy boat trip which was excellent and good value you had to pay for drinks but trip included the lunch which was really nice.we also met lots of friends and are keeping in touch with some. i found the staff were very pleasant and helpful especially "Happy"who was always cheerful the buggy lad we had dont knoiw his name but was always there to give us a lift if we wanted it to take us round the complex. we will definetly go back. akbuk was only a short ride away on the dolmus plenty of supermarkets we recommend Akguler if you to go to the back of the shop and ask for bacon they will supply it .We went over to see the new resort it was very impressive but we still prefer the Apollonium .

Room Tip: ask for Adonis numbers from 2-8 and 53 - 60 we were in a 3 bed with balcony great views and private...

If you want clubbing and night life forget The Apollonium. If you want a relaxing peaceful holiday then this is the place for you. Lovely complex and right on the beach. Yes it is in the middle of nowhere but there is a reliable dolmus to take you in to Akbuk where there are plenty of places to eat and supermarkets for shopping. We also went to Altinkum for the day on the dolmus and had another day in Kusadasi. Make sure you stroll along the beach from the complex in the evening and eat at Ali's. You sit by the sea under the olive trees and watch the sun set. Menu is basic but cooked fresh outdoors, chicken, steak or freshly caught fish served with freshly made salad, chips and bread. The family dont speak much English but are so welcoming. There is also a flock of sheep and chickens to keep you company if you get there before nightfall together with a large dog! Do pay them a visit, you'll love it. All in all it was a brilliant holiday and I cant wait to go back.

A really nice complex. But built in the middle of nowhere! So don't expect a srtoll into town.
excellent apartments, with lots of room, a sun terrace, all the expected facilites. Very good living.
Food in resort was alittle expensive and a bit under par. The head couldn't cook a stir fry, but I really don't know why they were trying to do world foods, when in Turkey, I eat local...
The beach bar just outside the complex (Ali's Bar) gave great value simple meals of fish or steak. We (4 of us) often ate at sunset on the beach, with drinks for less than 80 Lira.
Nearest town is about 15min in a car or bus. we'd recommend The Garden restaurant, some of the other places we were recommended didn't hit the mark.
Good fun daytime activities and some pretty good evening shows.

The big but was that whilst in Apollonium on the 1st day I lost my new expensive sun glasses, I thought it was me, but on the 3rd day I was pick pocked and lost my wallet, cash, cards and driving license. And had to spend half the next day in the Poice station an hour away. To be fair the hotel did send someone with me, but it took the shine off somewhat! While I was there I was aware of quite a few others that lost iphones, lap tops etc.

Go, enjoy, but keep your wits about you!

Room Tip: Near to waterfront/ reception?
