What a pleasant surprise!

This is a bright, almost new hotel with very much the spacious look. The lobby and restaurant are large, the corridors are high and wide, the rooms are huge. Definitely get a room on the Black Sea side of the hotel. The view is glorious and you can open up the double doors and just look out to sea. Despite the noisy highway being just on the other side of the hotel, all we could hear was the gentle wash of the waves on the shoreline. We even slept with the doors open.

The meals were good and they will even attempt to make a cappuccino for you at breakfast.

There were a few very minor quirks which included not being able to get any soap, just lots of hair shampoo, and the towels being small and basic when they should be large and thick to match the class of the rest of the hotel.

Would totally recommend.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room on the seaside

i have rarely seen a room that is so big. the hotel is fairly new. so everythig is more or less shining and spick and span. the location is ok. the ordu marina and the restaurants on the sea front there are about a ten minute walk. one can say that after the Anemon there is nothing else left in Ordu. the check in was smooth but the check out was a bit of a problem as the person was not comfortable with english and was having some issues on his machine that he was not being able to sort out.

the staff are very friendly and always willing to help. the language may be an issue mostly but the intent is very very genuine.

the internet is free. very reasonable charges - stayed for 5 nights and was charged TL 688 for room and food and laundry.

most of the rooms have a Black sea view. ask for that when booking. the toilet is nice and the facilities provided are good. most rooms should have a mini bar. the working area is very nice. the wireless internet can be weak if your room is in the far corner. try and avoid that.

there are large windows in the room that can be opened. the beds are nice and offer a good sleep quality. there is also a watch cum ipod pod cum radio.

there is a gym but it is pretty basic - only cardio and no weights. that too one machine each for treadmill, cross trainer and cycle. the view from the gym is great though. there is a swimming pool also. free parking is also available.

the breakfast spread is OK but can be monotonous. the food is generally OK but can be better - i do not agree with some of the other reviews here that the food is fantastic.

overall a very comfortable place - extremely good value for money.

Room Tip: black sea facing rooms are best. others see on to the main highway and may be noisy.

I was looking for a hotel on the sea and this hotel was a perfect choice. My room was quite large with a great desk area, exercise bike, chair and ottoman and a great king size bed. The room has 2 large operable windows that provide a nice view of the sea and nearby pier (where many people like to fish) The tv was large and there was even a dvd player with a small selection of dvd's available at the front desk. I ordered room service the first night and it was delicious, much better than I expected. The second night I ate at the restaurant and had the fajitas- which although meant for 2, they made it for one person. While I won't claim Turkey has a handle on Mexican cuisine, it was still very tasty- although what I thought was guacamole turned out to be a mysterious green liquid. They have a really nice pool outside and a good workout room downstairs. The lobby level is modern and elegant with many options for sitting/hanging out.

My only complaints are the following- my room A/C did not work- I never told the staff, so I don't hold it against them- I enjoyed having the windows open with the sound of the crashing waves. The other complaint regards the complimentary bicycles they provide. There were 4 total- 2 mens, one girls and one womans bike. I tried the 3 adult bikes and found that aside from needing air in the tires, they also needed a tune up. I took one bike out but found it to be too small and constantly changing gears. It's really great that they offer these bikes, but they aren't worth the trouble.

Room Tip: almost all of the rooms face the sea, so I don't think there is a bad room to be had.

We have stayed in many large/modern hotel chains, this was a treat as it was both tasteful, modern, clean and yet had many individual traits that made you feel you were staying in an intimate hotel. Bathrooms are excellent. Sea facing rooms are wonderful.

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms in the mezzanine floor if you can get it.

We stayed at the Anemon Hotel in July 12 for 5 nights and it was absolutley wonderful, the staff spoke good english and the service was excellent. Room service is guaranteed within 20minutes of you ordering. The restuarant serves international cuisine and breakfast buffet was brillant with a chef on hand to prepare your favorite pancake, omelette or waffles.

The rooms are extremley clean and roomy and we had excellent views over the Black Sea. We have family in Ordu and we will encourage our extended family to stay at the Anemon.
