A fantastic little find in the hills above Fortrose and a great base for exploring the beautiful Black Isle.

Stephen and Fiona could not have been more welcoming or helpful - ask their advice on where to visit and where to eat - they know the area very well. The breakfast was generous, filling and yummy! We had a beautiful large room upstairs - we found it a little hot but this was purely personal preference (as we're used to a very cold house!) The bed was comfortable and both the room and bathroom immaculate.

We would thoroughly recommend Hillhaven and will definitely stay there again when we're next in the area but be warned if you're using a satnav, the postcode takes you somewhere else!

Ideal location if you're wanting to relax and enjoy peace a quite. 2 mile down the road is a small village with a great local pub with an excellent selection of cask ales, there's also a view point where you can view dolphins and seals, if in the area. Fantastic nights sleep, B&B breakfast is quite possibly the best I've tasted.

We stayed here for one night while touring the Highlands. Wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was stunning with a beautiful en suite shower room with loads of toiletries. Everything was spotless and we also enjoyed a great breakfast. The views from the lounge/dining room are beautiful. Steven and Fiona are everything you would wish for as hosts and nothing is too much trouble to them. Fortrose is a lovely village. Don't leave without heading along to the lighthouse to see the dolphins in the bay.

We would highly recommend this establishment. Having taken family to Inverness airport, we needed an overnight stop as ferry's to the Outer Hebrides did not tie in with times.
From our arrival to leaving everything was looked after and we were made to feel welcome. Rooms very nice and spaces to live in. Spotlessly clean through out. Breakfast was of a very high standard and well cooked. We also got to see the Dolphins on the river the following morning.

This is a great retreat, Steve and Fiona were fantastic, great room and from the lounge room there were fantastic views of the countryside. Steve was very helpful in helping us to plan our road trip. Fiona cooked a wonderful breakfast.

Don't mention snakes or anything like that to Fiona and ask Steve which is the best part of haggis to eat!

I stayed here with my son while cycling from Lands End to John o'Groats. Fiona was very friendly and very helpful - giving us a lift to a local restaurant as we couldn't face cycling down into the town. It is very quiet and peaceful with pleasant views across the countryside. The only warning I would give to fellow cyclists is that it at the top of a hill.
