We got Married at the Castello in June 14...Words cannot describe how amazing this place is and you will never know until you experience it for yourself.
Me and my now Husband searched for so long to find the perfect Wedding venue and trust me this did not disappoint.
Thank you to Claudia and Beatrice who planned it all to perfection, i need not have worried about a thing.
My friends and family who also travelled over for the Wedding could not find one fault in it either and have said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they have ever been too. Our Wedding took over Facebook for a few days too, i even had strangers emailing me saying how amazing it looked and asking where it was as they were looking to get Married. Overwhelming to say the least.
Not only the Wedding but the service, staff and rooms were exeptional too, we stayed in the Arnolfi suite but we have also stayed in other rooms on previous stays, all different and stunning. The views are breathtaking. We are already planning on going back next year with some of our guests again as everyone wished they had of stayed longer.
I wish i could do it all over again.

Our friends got married here in June 2014. The hotel and the rooms are beautiful. The location is simply stunning and the staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble. Unusually it rained but the back up plans went smoothly and the ceremony was one of the most romantic things I have ever seen. The food was also superb. We will definately be going back.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the pool and it was gorgeous.

We stayed in the hotel during new year holidays (28/12-2/01) in Chiaravalle suit.
The hotel itself looks very impressive and generally picturesque, perfect location to drive around Umbria, nice parking, we found it reasonably easy to find using GPS and road signs.
1) Room in very spacious (two rooms). But it definitely requires designer of even hotel professional review: one small shelf in the sleeping room. Absolutely no space for putting you outside clothes in, or at least hanging somewhere. Very poorly furnished ( may be only this suit).
2) Bathroom it quite small, but reasonable size. Again very strangely organised. No place to put you things ( only very small wooden uneven surface around water sink).
3) Bathroom required immediate attention - there is mold in all corners. I understand it is an old house and they try to keeps it wooden, etc, but is not only unpleasant but unsafe.
4) Breakfast in very basic - sweet Italian. They have strange approach to hot dishes - one day they made us fried eggs, another day told that there is only cooked once on the table, one day there was just nothing.SO i suggest being pushy if you need smth.
5) We had a fireplace in the room - they charge us 10Euro per every wood briquette ( quite strange approach to my mind)
6) SAP facilities are small but very nice with again one strange arrangement - you can get access to it only from the second floor using VERY small elevator (claustraphobic people cant do it), otherwise you need to go through the restaurant and near entrance door wearing bath robes :) And BTW - no towels in the SPA.

Overall - we had nice stay mostly because on the nature of the hotel ( historic old building), great location and landscape.
Hotel itself, to my mind, required and input of hotel professional to properly structure the rooms, facilities, organize breakfast, SPA functioning, etc. to make it comfortable for the stay.

As of now - i wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I've just been here at the end of July for a friends' of mine wedding.
The wedding civil ceremony, the night wedding reception and the day after pool party were all kept on site and that was great for everyone, especially for the foreigner guests.
The location is unique as well as its surroundings are, the staff is always kind and really competent so that everything is quite simple but extremely well done and without that frenzy you can usually find at this kind of events.
I should also give an excellent mark to the food. All the meals were great, in the right portions and never too much.
I can just add that is also quite easy to reach from Rome by car in two hours.

We stayed there this past July, an extended family of 17 ranging in age from 4-80, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The views are majestic and the rooms we had were all spectacular. Everyone was happy and we couldn't have chosen a better place. It is less than two hours from Rome and an hour from Assisi, Orvietto, Perugia and other charming hill side towns. The owner, Giuseppe Alcini and his wonderfull staff welcomed us and we felt as if we were part of the Alcini family and the castle was truly our fantasy home. Our only criticism is the food, which is good, but not as spectacular as the rooms, location and pool. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful spot for weddings, family vacations and quiet weekends away from Rome.
