We had a great week at here! We had the all inclusive, and this is the only all inclusive I ever had that served really great food!!! The food was awesome, and the huge beach connected to the hotel was awesome! We will definitely return here!

We were in the level part of the hotel which is the next up from all inclusive.booking in was so perfect, took 10mins and we were in our room, which was very large had all you need ,dressing gown slippers full little fridge which was topped up each day with-beer water and fruit drinks .
Food each day was buffet style and the variety was excellent.Three pools one sea water others
None sea water, the sea water pool was quite big but at one end was very shallow. There were two
Level areas with jacuzzi fruit drink and fruit, and of course sun beds .All the staff were always on the help if needed. We were on the top floor with a sea view ,our room also had a wall television.Would I go again yes but not the last two weeks in July as the word championships wind
Kite events are on ,a bit loud .

Room Tip: Just ask for sea view we were in 957& 958.sun comes up right in front of you balcony.

We visited this great hotel again in June/July and once again loved every minute of the 14 days which flew by. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome many of them speak good English and were happy to assist with my novice Spanish, often both parties ended up laughing. The adult only cocktail bar had some excellent live musicians which contributed greatly to general atmosphere of relaxation away from the more lively Fun Pub where the shows are staged. There was no problem with sun beds many were still available by the pool at 10am, those around the gardens are also available with many being free even at mid day. We had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the fabulous Sotavento beach which we really love, especially when looking from the balcony on the evening. Meals are easily varied and there is always food cooked fresh while you wait, the buffet style service means you can eat at whatever pace you choose.
We love the relaxed atmosphere of this lovely hotel and we always go all inclusive as it offers such great value. Our daily walk up the quiet but fabulous beach was always followed by a relaxing coffee and a Brandy in the outdoor bar overlooking the main pool.
We will be going back again next year as we feel so comfortable at this lovely hotel and location.
The beach can be a bit windy but this can be great if you fancy watching or taking part in the kite boarding or wind surfing, which takes place at the bottom of the hotel steps.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Sotavento beach are blessed with wonderful views of the stunning beach.

This was our second visit to the hotel, the last one being 2 years ago. It was the usual slow check in on arrival. We had all inclusive from the uk which is the only option.
We were in a family rm 519, which was spacious, and was an upgrade with a partial sea view. The balcony was in shade most of the day but we were happy with this. The room was a very good standard, although the toilet needed screwing to the floor (minor issue). The hotel is spotlessly clean and the floors are lovely throughout.

The buffet restaurant is very good, and has loads of choice, if anything too much choice.. The fish grills and meat grills were fantastic, with loads of lovely salad, paellas daily, and fab olive bread. The only criticism if any is the chicken is undercooked, raw sometimes. I pointed this out to a chef and he said it was fine and was medium! Everyone knows chicken should be cooked through, and not raw. Loads of lovely Spanish dishes also, paella , flambes, chorizos and chocolate.the buffet is continually refreshed so not left out .wine is only served by the half bottle , or full, and. Loads was getting wasted. I would suggest they introduce glasses of wine in the restaurant.

It is worth checking out the drinks menu on arrival, so you know what is included in the all inclusive as each bar differs.

The fun pub (venue) opens at 5pm so we headed there before drink for a cocktail. There was a good selection, and even a non alcoholic one for the kids, which you can't get in the restaurant. We ordered in the pub and then took a second one to dinner with us. I would recommend trying a creme catalanya (like baileys)

The pool bar has a water cooler, so you can fill up bottles and take to the beach with you.

Renee Egli has now built a kite surf shack on the beach just below the hotel. Husband reckons it has created atmosphere on the beach. I think it has created less space for hotels guests to sit in the shade of the palms, as they have out sun beds out which you have to pay for 4e each.

The entertainment was good, kids loved toe disco, and Nadia was a good Pilates teacher.

The usual pool bed hogging goes on. I went to the pool after lunch, to find the majority of beds unoccupied but couldn't find anywhere to sit as the beds were reserved with towels.

All the staff are very hardworking, but very few appear to be enjoying their job.

Great location if you are a windsurfer, otherwise bit cut off. Will we return? Maybe?

Room Tip: Pool view may be worth the upgrade. Don't want to be too. Near reception as may be noises at nig...

We spent 12 Days at Melia Gorriones. Its location is great well away from the main strip with lots of beach to walk on. Our room on the 7th floor had a great view was clean and had all we needed. There is a good range of food which is repeated each week so by week two you know what is happening that day. The outdoor eating area is great with lots of tables and good service. But in peak tie you may need to queue for a table out there. In the first week we could easily get a table but as it got busier it got a bit tricker. We where impressed that the staff worked well to keep the food coming and topped up at the buffet especially with the amount of hungry people descending on them. The outdoor areas are good the main pool has a lot loungers around it and you can normally find a place out of the wind. The main pool is salt water and is quite salty compared to the sea. The gym is a bit run down but has enough equipment to do a quick work out. We had both windy days and still days. We found that heading out on to the beach was a great way to spend the day heading towards tow along the beach you can find some great spots that are sheltered. When it isn't windy their is miles of beach to sit on. Yes you will see naked people on the beach but worse some of them wear crocs. The water is very clear and the Gophers are fun to watch scurry around the sand banks and rocks. Depending on the tides you will get a full or empty lagoon in front of the hotel. it is amazing how much the tilde landscape changes. Back at the Hotel there are two main bars the Fun pub which has highly entertainment and the Gabi which is a kids free zone which has live music most night. Look out for Alberto who pours a great drink with a friendly smile. We where going to do some kite surfing at René Egli which is just in fount of the hotel but we found them to be very, very expensive and the course that they offered was not that detailed. Check them out on trip advisor they have a number of bad reviews regarding their costs and service. Over all this is a great hotel to go to to get away from it all with good service and lots of space to explore.

After spending seven days in this outstanding hotel I will be back!
It is a very secluded hotel, the beach is a stone through away!! Our room 674 was well kept by our lovely cleaner who did a fantastic job!
The food is excellent! Fresh local produce cooked in front of you. However one thing caught my eye,if the waiter/waitress is outside during a day they should be wearing a white shirt not a black! They work very hard insuring you have a pleasurable dining experience. Fransisco is fantastic! He made sure our resturant experience was 100% perfect!

Kelly in reception was fantastic! They all work hard but Kelly was outstanding! Professional and attentive.

Thank you to every member of staff who I spoke to, insuring I had a fantastic stay.
See you next year.
