I spent a day with David, who demonstrated not just a passion for all things woody and countryside, but a very high level of knowledge about the environment we were in. David was easy to get on with, was willing to share his knowledge and wanted to make sure that not only did we learn some basic woodcraft skills, but we also enjoyed ourselves. I learnt how to look at a piece of wood and select the best place to split it, how to craft a knife, spoon and spatula. David used his own crafted utensils to cook an excellent lunch. The day flew by too quickly. It covered a walk around the area learning how to identify plants and trees. Using woodcraft to make our utensils, foraging for lunch etc. A great day out. I can highly recommend this.

I have attended several of the guided woodland walks led by David with my husband and two young children (aged 5 and 2). The site where the walks take place is beautiful but it was really made special by David who is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and great with children. He shared lots of interesting information about the woodland that was accessible to both adults and children. He was happy to adapt the walk and the information shared to suit the people in attendance (e.g. adapting the route when one parent required a pushchair). Thoroughly enjoyed the walks! Thank you David!
