Casa do Adro is a small but wonderful B&B in VN de Milfontes. The host and hostess could not possible do more to make you fell you are staying with family. Upon arrival, we had fresh baked cake and freshly squeezed orange juice awaiting us in our room, it only got better from there. The breakfast was extraordinary with an array of fresh baked good, large fruit platter, meats and cheeses, and toast with local preserves. The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable with our own terrace. The hotel provided an open pantry with complimentary fresh fruit, soft drinks, beer, wine, and/or port. My only regret was that we didn't book more time in this lovely B&B.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a terrace/ balcony.

The rooms are in a traditional house located in a quiet street in the old and attractive part of the town, close to the castle. We were given a very friendly and hospitable welcome by the owner, Idalia (who speaks good English), and by her husband and were invited to help ourselves to the complimentary drinks and fruit in the guests' kitchen/larder and there was delicious cake in our room as well as a flask of hot water and a selection of teas. The rooms are of varying sizes and ours was one of the smaller ones but still quite large enough, with plenty of storage and a small balcony (but with no views). The bathroom was compact but well laid out and equipped. There is a separate large terrace as well as a pleasantly furnished living room and there are free drinks (including alcohol - albeit we are teetotal), fruit and snacks (nuts etc) available at all times. Breakfast was also a pleasant affair, taken on the terrace, with juice, an excellent (and large) fruit platter, eggs, cheese, cold meats and toast. Idalia had already arranged a restaurant for us for dinner, a short walk away from the inn (and where we had an excellent meal). The castle, the square and the river are a very short walk away (1-3 minutes) and there is a choice of restaurants and cafes within a stroll of a few minutes. We ordered a picnic for our walk the next day and, as we might have guessed, this was also excellent. It is difficult to fault the rooms, service or food! Being a traditional house in a small town, there isn't a conventional garden but there were many pots in flower on the terrace. We were sorry we had not arranged to stay here a little longer - both the inn and the town are worthy of more than a day.

Room Tip: The rooms are of varying size and it may be worth checking which one is being made available.

Having read all the wonderful reviews it is hard to add anything. Everything was just right but the overriding positive of Casa Adra are without doubt Idalhia and Antonio. They really treat you like part of the family.

Not at all oppresive but just keen to help with every need or want in the nicest possible way. They genuinely will do anything to make your stay pleasant and will insist on dropping you off for walks, ensuring you have picnic, phone numbers etc.

The fact that all wine, snacks, coffee etc is free is simply an an added bonus.

I have stayed in countless hotels over the years but never had such a friendly welcome.

Thoroughly deserved top spot on Trip advisor - my only worry is we may never be able to reserve a place in future!

Homelike environment provided by Idalia. Rooms were cozy and clean, with TV. Also had a balcony. In very middle of town and less than a 10 min walk to an incredible and secluded beach. Surprised each afternoon with tea and cake, which was lovely and tasty. Also, complimentary everything in the kitchen: beer, water, wine, fruit, cakes, etc. One of the friendliest and most accommodating bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed in. Also, the breakfast was OUTSTANDING and contained everything you'd ever want. Toast, jam, cheese, proscuitto, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed Orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. When we were leaving, Idalia also packed us a goodie bag of cake and waters, which were very good on the way to Sagres. Would heartily recommend to anyone in Milfontes.

Homelike environment, cozy, relaxing, appealing, delicious smells and excellent breakfast, add an extremely nice and warm service and you have Casa do Adro.
Idália and her staff are an army of people with one purpose: to make you feel at home when you’re away from home. These people work hard, always with a smile and a kind word. Attention is paid to every detail, from the home baked cakes at tea time to the home made jams served at breakfast.
The picturesque scenario surrounding the house fits well the décor of the common areas and each room. Whether reading a good book or just enjoying the late afternoon sun the balconies are perfect for a moment of rest. The beach is just a 5 minutes’ walk away and there’s all kinds of places for enjoying a late dinner.
For all of these reasons, I know that when you come to stay at Casa do Adro you’ll leave with only one thought in your mind “I’ll return”! I know I did, for the last 6 years, and I’ll keep returning as long as it is possible.

Located in the town centre Casa do Adro has a very personal touch. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. There are several choices of aperitifs and wine included as well as other goodies that you can enjoy on the terrace. The owners are very welcoming, breakfast is quite stunning and parking is anywhere you can find a spot. It is rather difficult to find but if you are by the church you are but 20m away and ask.

I can highly recommand this place. The lady of the house was extremely kind and generous towards the guests. She seems to do her job out of real passion. The room was beautiful and there was tea and cake waiting for us in the room when we arrived. Drinks are offered for free at any time. Breakfast was wonderful and served by very nice staff. Guests are treated like kings, it seems. When we left, we got a little bag with water and cake as a picknick for our journey. It is really a great experience to stay here.
