Auberge St.Pierre
We stayed at the Auberge St.Pierre for 2 nights in July. We were lucky enough to be in St Pierre when they were holding Bastille Day, it was supposed to be on July 14th but the weather was bad so they moved it to the 17th.We took place in the festivities and had a great time. They had live music/food/events for children and fireworks in the evening. We were so lucky to have been there then.
We had a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the town looking downhill. The Auberge is located at almost the top of the town but we didn’t find it hard to walk back to the room many times a day. My guess is that maybe it is one or one and a half kilometers from the Place DeGaulle.
There are two grocery/convenience stores nearby where you can buy wine cheese cold beer anything you would need. There is a larger grocery store down past the dock as you would head to the old airport or to the cemetery.

Our host we extremely helpful and spoke very good English, they helped us book diner reservations, gave us directions, and had lots of information about what to see and do.
The computer available for the guest use worked well and the internet was quite fast.
The keyboard is a little different so good typists may have to look down at the letters.
Our room was clean, everything worked fine TV shower etc and we had plenty of towels.
One night we had bought cold beer and realized we had nothing to open it with so my wife went down to have our beers opened and even came back with the fellow working there with 2 beer glasses and a plate for us to cut our cheese with!Excellent service.
The included breakfast was very good and had a great selection.

There is a sitting area in the front of the hotel with a TV if you wanted to use that.
They have menus available for a local restaurant “Feu de braise” where we ate and it was very good. They made reservations for us at the front desk.

We asked if we could leave our bags as we had to check out before 11am but our ferry didn’t leave until 3pm and our host said no problem at all, But if it was easier for us we could leave them at the tourist office downtown. That was really nice of him to know that as it saved us a trip back to get our bags.
I can’t say enough about how well we were treated at the Auberge Saint Pierre and I would recommend this place to anybody who is visiting St.Pierre.

The Auberge Saint-Pierre is a small B&B in Saint-Pierre. It is a 10 minute walk down the hill to the waterfront (15 minutes back the other way) so expect to get some exercise to work off the French pastries! The rooms are small but functional in a European style. Similarly breakfast is French style, coffee and croissant (the orange juice was terrible but the apple was OK). The free WiFi worked OK on my iPhone. There are only a couple of taxis in Saint Pierre so ask your hosts to arrange one to pick you up at the airport or ferry as you won't find them sitting on a rank. Neither of my Australian mobile carriers would roam to Saint-Pierre Telecom so check in advance if this is important to you.

We stayed here three nights after the end of the "high season". The staff was very nice, let us put our own wine in the refrigerator, advised on restaurants, etc. No bath, just a shower, but it was ok; very clean and comfortable. It is high up on the hill which makes up this city - waterfront is down low, and streets run up the hill, so we did a bit of walking which was good for us because we were eating and drining well. Breakfast was included and cold, but good : cereals, fruits, cheese, coffee, muffins and brioches. Internet in the rooms and a computer you could use if you could deal with a French keyboard, which has the letters in different places from an American keyboard. It was not the fault of the Inn, but I would advise going before the museums close at the end of September. We found not a whole lot to do.

The Auberge is about 5-7 minutes on foot from the ferry terminal, but it is also at the end of the city (Saint Pierre being quite tiny). The place was nice and very clean, but I was not at all impressed by breakfast. While the hostess and her assistant were very nice, I was quite thrown off when I asked if we could use the Internet, was given the log-in information, and was then told that the pleasure would cost me 5 Euros. After some consideration I decided not to sue the service at that price, and that was not received very well. I would certainly try another place next time.

I agree with the above review. We had stayed here 1 Aug 06 and it is quite far from the ferry terminal. $5.00 for a taxi. More like a hotel than a B&B. Nothing fancy rooms. $85.00 Cdn. The hostess was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Checkout time is early when the ferry does not leave until 1:30. Note: most businesses shut down for about 1 - 2 hours at 12:00 noon. Make sure you eat before if you are catching the 1:30 ferry.
