“What a gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

We stayed here overnight on Sat 14th June, 2014.
Val is a kind and thoughtful host and made us feel very welcome.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean.
There are tea and coffee making facilities in the dining room, available all the time.
We had the room with a bath which is just across the landing from the room.
It was an excellent breakfast.

I stayed at the Old School B&B for three weeks while visiting a colleague in Keele University. The accommodations are perfect. The setting is gorgeous. Even the weather has personality (some of the locals, I was told, could do without that - but for someone from Florida, that matters). The room is spotless, squeaky clean, the bathroom the same. Val is pleasant and helpful, quietly and efficiently resolving any travel scheduling questions. For those of you who would like to see more of he area, she knows the sites and can direct you to the most interesting places. Did I mention that she cooks a wicked full English breakfast?

Highly recommended! Even if you don't have any business with Keele University or the area, make sure your travel goes through Keele just to give yourself the opportunity of enjoying the cosy Old School BB.

Thanks Val!

Excellent accommodation, large comfortable bed, spotlessly clean bathroom and great value. We had the room with private bathroom across the landing, but robes were provided if needed. Plenty of tea/coffee in the dining room to help yourself during the evening. Excellent breakfast with veggie options. Friendly owners - highly recommended and would stay again if we are in the area in the future.

We had a wonderful time here- picking up my son from the University, my husband and I spent 2 nights here. We were made so welcome. Good conversations, outstanding breakfasts and spotless room. Lovely decor. My only sorrow is that we couldn't stay longer!

This is an ideal place to stay if you are visiting Keele - standards are high with sstylish traditional decor, and the price is very reasonable. Book early because there are only a couple of rooms. Our room was large and comfortable with TV and there is a nice sitting room downstairs with the added bonus of a choice of teas that you can help yourself to, fruit bowl and an automatic instant coffee maker. there is also a TV. I would happily stay here again.

We spent a lovely night at the Old School Keele whilst visiting our student daughter. From the beginning we were made very welcome and comfortable. Nice big, comfy bed, good quality bedding, beautifully clean, spacious bathroom. Breakfast was very relaxing, well organised, plentiful and delicious. I'd recommend the Staffordshire oat pancakes - delicious with perfectly poached egg.
Definitely be returning all the time daughter is at Keele uni.
We tried to book here before but it gets booked up - so book early!

Room Tip: I think there are two guest rooms? One has its own ensuite bathroom and the other has a bathroom (ve...

I stayed at the old school house in keele for around 3 weeks in January and February whilst working at the local University. The service was exceptional, the room large and very comfortable and the breakfasts excellent. The location is peaceful and quiet a real gem in the middle of Staffordshire. Even though I was working at the university this felt like a vacation.
