“Superb location”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

We had a last minute stay at this hotel and we found the reception staff very accommodating, considering it was their busy time. The location is brilliant and we had a wonderful room with a sea view and overlooking the domed pool. The family room was spacious and very clean with huge beds! The bar staff were excellent with service and very friendly. Like trvllnlady we were also astonished that despite being 'Premier Club' guests we were denied water at meals!! We only wanted one glass each at dinner - sad to say the quality of the food did not warrant wine which we would normally order. However we were promptly told that as we were not guests of what I assumed to be All Inclusive we could not have water unless we purchased it!! The price of our room was not cheap so to be paying anything extra for us as a family of four was outrageous. This should be addressed as it was a massive negative to our stay!

Room Tip: A room with a balcony.

The hotel has a great position. The food is very good but in the restoran is very crowded. I like this place because it's near the sea and it's near the centre of Primosten- a cute, little
town. The rooms are clean and the service is polite. They should build a better corner for people that use computers because everybody can see what are you looking on a computer.
The Hotel is allways full with children and it's not a quiet place to stay.
For me it was great exept the noise and the crowd on the buffets in the restaurant

Hotel had everything one needs in a holiday. However, they could have some adjustments - orange juice is ??able; and when one goes to get water they are quickly attacked by employees telling them they are only half-board so cannot take the water.????????????? THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! Naturally they want us to buy bottled water. Water is provided for full board. We were on a special Easter plan which really was full board - breakfast and special dinner and no water..... Many tour buses come in which means unsupervised children. We found the unsupervised teens in the pool area very disturbing - they chase each other around and the furniture goes flying - the video cameras do not solve the problem. This was reported and I hope will be dealt with. One cannot explain the way families leave their children/teens unsupervised........ no consideration for others. Also, THE COMPUTER AREA NEEDS SOME CHANGING; this seems to be the area for people to just sit and wait or lounge around doing nothing therefore there is no privacy at the computers. Honestly I guess they don't want to spend the money to buy a drink in the other areas which are totally unoccupied. In the computer area one cannot even walk between the chairs. Also, I lost two items and found when approaching staff in other lounges and in the office that it is quite likely there is no system whereby lost items are returned to the desk immediately. I never did get my items back after having to approach staff in different lounges. Primosten itself is a marvelous little place to visit and we will be returning to the area I hope.

Room Tip: overlook the water....

We love Croatia and its people and have spent the last five years holidaying in different places in this fabulous country.

I had a hip replacement in March, so needed somewhere 'flat' to make walking easier. Super location next to the sea with a 'crazy paved' walk under pines into Primosten which is a short walk away. We were in the four star part of the hotel and had a requested a quiet room which we got at the very end of the complex overlooking the pines. Our room had a balcony and at night, in bed, you could hear the waves. Front rooms overlooked the village (would have loved this!). Lifts to upper floors, ours was the top.

On arrival I looked at height of the bath with dismay as it came to the upper part of my thigh and to lift my leg up and over the bath to get into the shower was a nightmare. However, we informed Reception and a wooden stool to stand on was provided. Thank you. Our booking included a complimentary fruit bowl on arrival but this was missing so once again reception came up trumps!

What I really appreciated was the free daily mini bar stocked with fruit juice and water. We are trying to learn Croatian so I left a note for housekeeping asking for a blackcurrant juice-and there it was! My Croatian must be improving!

Meals-if you like to eat early and are quick you can get a table on the terrace which is the best place to sit and quietest! My husband even saw a red squirrel! The main dining room gets exceptionally busy and noisy as there are not soft furnishing such as curtains to help absorb the sound. As it's a buffet, people do take advantage and eat loads (with a lot of waste) so no wonder staff can't keep up. Salad presentation is good and a real effort is made. There is a daily fish dish and pasta dish. The pasta was super, I did have seconds! But I ate the lot!! Soup was also good but we have found that throughout Croatia, like pizza this is done very well. Deserts look good but were mousse based and a bit sickly for me. However, the ice cream was good, especially the coconut and fresh fruit is always an option. Coffee/orange juice is not good and I agree with all other reviewers on this point. I also agree with reviews about the queues/finding a table. Breakfast pancakes have one station and more often than not a child would take the lot!! On the subject of children, it's a family friendly hotel and children go around unsupervised. One morning a little bare foot boy was running with a glass through the restaurant, fell, smashed glass was everywhere, the Mum tried to pick up the pieces but they just got trodden on. So if you like a quieter environment, go somewhere else.

Not keen on the salt water pool and we did have a grey day which meant that it was FULL of children.

The massage was the best that I have ever had, even though they initially billed for it despite it being complimentary. Once again thanks to reception for efficiently sorting this out.

There's an activities program and entertainment. I couldn't find the aqua aerobics but we had a Croatian lesson under the pines, just my husband and I-fab.

Worth staying in the four star part but you could go bed and breakfast as there's loads of really great restaurants in Primosten.

Room Tip: Top floor, end of complex, seas view room-fingers crossed!

Our group of 37 friends and family stayed here for one night in late September. We found the hotel very clean and hospitable. The rooms and baths were spacious and clean. Located right on the water and within walking distance of the town, we all wished we could have stayed longer. The enclosed salt-water pool was very relaxing. Breakfast was also very good with a big variety.

Just had a week in the Zora in Primosten. Hotel Zora is very poor, part of the complex is derelict covered in graffiti and this has been since the homeland war. Our room was overlooking this view, pretty depressing. The restaurant food was poor, had trouble getting a table as there were not enough to go round, and had to queue and when we got there the food had run out, there were not enough staff to keep up with the amount of people eating. The restaurant had reserved tables which stood empty which made matters worse. We were taking a drink of water with our food, but were told we could not have this as we were only half board. We eat out a lot as meal times were a dash to get food, long queue's and poor quality food without much variation. Food was over salted, almost un eatable, & same stuff every night. If you want hot food at breakfast all that was available every day was scrabbled egg & savaloys. Primosten was nice, but you really need to stay in one of the apartments that are available to rent, and self cater, or eat out. Eating out was cheaper than uk, and lots of variety. Hope this helps people not making the mistake we made by staying at the Zora.

Room Tip: Don't bother, chose one of the apartments available for rent.

We stayed 8 days in early Sept. The weather was still beautiful, the sea was very nice warm. Although we payed two rooms in the 3 * part with balcony, we were offered rooms in the 4* block, however without balcony.(As we knew from the views that these rooms are much more comfortable, we accepted the change.) The rooms were nice and clean, with wonderful view to the see and the nice village Primosten. The location of the hotel is unique, with long beaches, unbelievably cristal clear water, surrounded with a pine forrest. For swimming you will need shoes, because small grits make it uncomfortable to go into the sea. (We bought nice seashoes in Primosten for 50 Kuna) Sunbeds cost 20 Kuna/day., on the beach you can hardly find a place to eat or drink anything, you must go to Primosten - which is not far (100-200 meter) - but for a drink you do not want to walk that distance each time you got thirsty.

We had half board, where we could choose between lunch and dinner, we always had dinner. Food is delicious, with grear variety, there was each day something from the sea (squid, fish, etc) and more types of meat dishes, various salads and deserts. Only problem is that the restaurant is overcrowded, you have always to queue up for the dishes. To get your coffee at breakfast time is a nightmare, so many people are waiting for the machine.
Good housewine can be ordered (both red and white) for dinner, it costs 55 Kuna/half liter, a bottle of mineral water was 18 Kuna.
On the third day we recognised that red and white wine and soda can be pressed from a machine free of charge, but these were under quality, and later we saw that waiters even prohibited people to go there, only full board guests could use that. Never mind, the ordered wines are much better.
All in all we had a great time in Hotel ZORA, I would recommend to friends to stay there, without expecting any luxsurity.

Room Tip: 4* part as high as possible
