Harbour Lights Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 7 Kilmore Quay B&B and Inns
Reviewed 6 November 2012

My friend and I have stayed at Harbour Lights on two separate occasions (June and September 2012). The rooms are very comfortable offering the usual facilities for drinks, television, warmth and en-suite. There is a large sitting room for guests with lots of information leaflets to plan your day. The house is spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent. Mrs Bates is a very welcoming warm and helpful individual. Although dubious over taking fishing guests because of previous ill behaviour and disrespect or her property by some individuals she has her regular fishing customers and is open to new fishing groups who will respect her property. She has a stream of regular customers which is an indication of her friendly warm home which offers excellent value for money (70 Euro for the two of us). She has even gone that step further for her fishing groups by having a separate freezer to store their prize catches. On a rare occasion for a late returner from fishing she has stood and queued at the fish and chip shop to facilitate a late meal for them. This is beyond the call of a B&B owner. However, it is an indication how far she has gone to make her guests happy.
There is ample free off road parking. The surrounding areas offer outstanding beauty, boat trips to the Saltee Islands and fishing. We will certainly visit again and we would recommend this to our family and friends.

May could not have been more welcoming or more helpful. The room with en suite was great. If you are visiting Kilmore Quay this is the place to stay. May will look after you.

May is really lovely. She works hard, will get up early to cook you breakfast before catching the ferry!( It is handy to Rosslare). The rooms are small but warm & comfortable, lovely beds & linen. We liked it so much we e-mailed ahead at the end of our trip & stayed there AGAIN !! Get May to make you a reservation at The Silver Fox, a fantastic seafood restaurant right at the end of her driveway !! Lovely hot showers, very clean.

Sometimes all you want is no surprises and a good place to sleep. This Bord Failta approved B&B is exactly that. Friendly, comfy, good bed, fairly quiet, great view out our window. We paid 70 Euro for the two of us and received good value. Good breakfast, nice chat. You could do much worse

I stayed here for a long weekend with my sister who was here for a week. Very close to the Harbour, lovely to see the 'lazy' seals in the harbour! Visited the Saltees island for the day, fantastic weather and so many birds. Lots of lovely walks......
