“Sigh!Sigh Sywell.”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

Often go for a wander around the lake at Sywell, it's an easy beginers walk if your new to putting one foot in front of another, the only thing that can spoil it is the amount of dogs plus owners of course, which can lead to having to watch where your feet are landing. not all dog owners pick up after their little darlings, I wish that they would as it spoils the walk for us non dog types who do not wish to step into a little parcel that's been left behind. Sywell it's self is compact and an easy walk to do.

“Sywell Country Park”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

We enjoyed our walk around the reservoir when the weather brightened up after a downpour. There was a hard pathway for about half of the walk and a grassy track-way for the rest. The gateways were difficult to pass through due to deep puddles. Views were pleasant for a Sunday afternoon stroll. We were disappointed not to be able to have a cup of tea in the closed café. It was only mid-afternoon in August! Surely a bit of rain early in the day should not make the café close early?

The area around the café was nicely laid out and very suitable for all.

“Council spoil this with parking fees for short trips”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

A nice place to walk round however disappointed in parking fees by council as they encourage people to walk and complain about obesity but my friend and I wanted to go for a daily walk to get fit and this would cost us a large fee driving to the park and paying for the parking fee each day. It's ok for a good day out and picnic etc., but for just an hour visit not good value and many people who are unemployed often visit to improve their mental health but are now not able due to cost. I realise the fees may help to care for Sywell but they do need to consider the above users and not just a one fee fits all.

“Pleasant walks”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Parking is £2.60 and you are required to put your registration number in the machine, to get a ticket.
There is a very nice cafe at the gate entrance and ice cream prices were reasonable.
The play area is more for smaller children and is really a giant sandpit. The 'toys' are for young children.
There are a few benches for a picnic.
The reservoir can be walked around but I am not sure if there is access all around the perimeter.
