an en route stopover back to CT. Looks quite good from the outside, secure parking. We had a self-catering garden room in the annexe and a room in the main house. Decent space and clean (except for an ant infestation round the kitchen area - must be a common occurrence as cans of Doom are provided). Disabled persons are catered for as our room had a ramp and grab handles in the small shower room.
Thank goodness for the self-catering ! We looked for a restaurant in the town - we saw one rather unappealing place and three takeaways bu that was it.. So we went to the supermarket, made our own spag bol and played scrabble. There is a good garden area and a pool but we didn't get to try it.
Relatively cheap, Samantha is very nice and helpful; breakfast was good enough, but it must be difficult in such a dreary town. Sorry but would try to find a better town at which to stop.
