A comfortable, safe hotel in a quiet location within a small tropical garden overlooking the river. The hotel is directly across the Rio Pano from the Parque Amazonica a small animal refuge and rehabilitation centre. While I was staying access to the Parque was via a wooden canoe as the bridge to the island was down.

The rooms are smart and comfortable with cable tv and a large modern bathroom with hot water. My room had air condicioning and a river view.

Continental breakfast was included in the price. The staff were very pleasant and professional and they stored my bag free of charge for 3 days while I was on a trip into the jungle. The hotel is very good value for money and probably is the best hotel in Tena.

Location: in quiet neighborhood, yet walking distance to everything. Also across the street from Mundo Pumba, a great tour agency.
Check in: room was not ready but they were nice enough to hold my luggage until it was.
Room: very clean, but smelled musty like most rooms in the jungle. Windows could open up for fresh air, but since they had no screens it was pointless. Bathrooms had hot showers. ALL rooms in the jungle have small ants. This was no exception. No AC, but had fan.
Breakfast: advertised as "FREE", only the coffee and bread is free. All extras such as ham & eggs are extra. That is unheard of in Ecuador. It's either totally free or not included. That was an insult to me and wasn't even that tasty.
Sleep: It would have been better if neighboring guest would have been quiet and more respectful of others. Slamming doors in the hallway will easily wake you at 5am. My bed backed up to a musty wooden wall. Not good if you have mold allergies, but neither is the entire jungle if you have issues.
Staff: nice enough, but young and disinterested in you
Overall: Stay at Loz Yutzos Dos (La Posada) next door with riverfront views for half the price and buy your breakfast in town. This place is a rip-off and shouldn't be listed in guidebooks as the best hotel in town. That it is not!

A very quiet, safe and convenient hotel to the best of Tena. Across from Parque Amazonica, close to the footbride and right on the river.

Clean, comfortable air conditioned rooms with several overlooking the river.

I'd highly reccomend to foreign travelers.

Before taking a room, we looked at the standard double and the one with air con. The extra $5 or so is really worth it. We were in a large and airy room overlooking the river with a large balcony. Tena is a busy town, and the main road is pretty hectic all night. This place is an oasis of calm, with lovely gardens and a terrace upstairs.
The continental breakfast was included in the price but for a couple of dollars extra you could have bacon and eggs.

When we arrived in Tena there was lots of construction going on and a lot of roadwork was taking place. Our room in Los Yutzos was lovely and spacious and had a great location overlooking the river. My only criticism would be that the breakfast was slightly disappointing (but included in the price) Staff was very helpful. The pizzeria 2 minutes away called El Vagabundo was gorgeous too (I also reviewed this) and our rafting trip with Rio People was thoroughly enjoyable (book early as there mightn't be a trip every day and it would be a shame to miss out) Los Yutzos is approx 5 mins from the bus station.
