Went here for a meal a couple of nights ago. Have to say it was the best fish I have had for a long time. Couldn't fault the meal or the service. Would highly recommend going here for a meal. We've also been for Sunday lunches and again couldn't fault anything.

Really good meal of vervet yes, cuttlefish starters, with sea bream and crevettes for mains. All cooked perfectly. You wouldn't be disappointed if you love fish. Would recommend and will be returning for more too!

In the home of the most famous cheese on the planet, this pub offers excellent food and great beer. Just off the A1 it is a great stopping of post with a warm welcoming environment. There are lovely fires in the winter and a well and sympathetically decorated interior embrace you as you walk in. Well worth a visit.

We love staying here and this time we took full advantage of the holiday weekend and booked two nights.

For once the English weather was kind to us and we arrived in time for lunch which we enjoyed outside in the sun. The whitebait salad was a favourite choice but I opted for a bacon and brie pannini which I love and thoroughly enjoyed.

We ate here in the evening too and between us all we covered fish and chips (enormous portion), pork belly and for me sea bream not to mention starters of garlic mushrooms with chorizo and cheese. Needless to say we were all too full for puddings but did enjoy great coffee.

Carlos does a great breakfast and such a choice. My favourite is poached eggs and bacon with lots of toast and coffee, Have to mention the strawberries too which were so tasty.

The choice ingredients used across the menus shine through whatever dish you order. We always say now that tastes as good bacon, fish etc should and if this costs a little more then it's worth it.

Already looking forward to my birthday here in a few weeks time, just wish we lived a little nearer!

Room Tip: We've stayed in just about every one of the six rooms and they are all good.
