The staff at the hotel were very friendly. We originally booked for 2 nights, but after 1 night decided to leave. We did not find the room clean at all. The bathroom was extremely small and needed a good clean. Electrical wiring to heat hot water in shower was a bit frightening. Noticed lots of tiny ants which we cleaned up. Needs a lot of attention. Did not enjoy breakfast. Coffee was good though.

Room Tip: Perhaps they have better rooms than we had. We faced the hotel street front.

I'm not sure why this place has so many highly rated reviews. The good thing is that it was very inexpensive. I think we paid the equivalent of $26. The bad thing is that it was not very clean, the room was very humid/moist, and the bathroom was tiny. When we checked in, they asked us if we wanted a room with one bed or two beds, we asked for one bed, but when they took us to the room, they said that they actually didn't have a room with one bed and put us in a room with three beds. I'm not sure why they asked about our preference? The room was very small with most of the space taken up by the three beds. The bathroom was also tiny. They were fixing the terrace when we checked in, so there was dust all over the place and hammering. The reception lady apologized and said they would be done by 6pm. The construction noise started the next day at 7am, which didn't really bother us because we were ready to check out, but would probably be bothersome to someone trying to sleep. They also only accept Visa and Mastercard, not any of the other cards. On the positive side, the woman who was working at the front desk was very friendly.

Santa Rosa has changed a lot in recent years. It is not always a cheap place to stay, etc. For the price, Karolina Boutique has a lot to offer. Nice, safe, clean, reasonably priced, a good deal. Staff were helpful per eateries and local businesses I needed to visit, etc. I don't often stay in Santa Rosa (usually San Pedro, Copan or Tegus) but I like this place and will stay here again. I first stayed here based on a recommendation from another possible, future, Honduras business person. It is a country beset by both problems and opportunities.

We only stayed one night but a very pleasant B&B.

Nice artwork and very clean.

Bathroom was very small and breakfast only a token gesture but a good nights sleep is what we wanted and what we had!

Spent the night before in a street front room at Hotel Castillo and Hotel Karolina was a 100% better!!

We stayed here for one night on our way through to the Copan Archeological site. We had a really nice double room, but slightly more pricey than we had been paying - 550L or $27.50. However - it is still one of the cheaper options in the area and breakfast is included. The staff are really nice and the room has a private bathroom and cable TV. We could have happily stayed here a few extra nights as the town is really nice and restaurants/cafe's close by. We would definitely recommend this hotel. Check out the really nice restaurant just down the road.
