We had two rooms/bungalows for a single night recently and both rooms were large & beautiful, the nicest of any lodge we stayed at on our trip. Rooms were huge with nice corner baths & separate shower room.

Contrary to one or two posts both rooms were fitted with mosquito nets in excellent condition.

The welcome was warm. Grounds were lush and green. Food was good and there was plenty of choice . It rained in the morning of the night we stayed here ( although it was firmly in the dry season) and umbrellas for our use quickly materialised outside our rooms and in the restaurant. toiletries & hairdryers were all provided.

It's true that the road from the main road to the hotel is rough but it's rural Tanzania & this is typical for the location- that is why 4x4s are used. Similarly I've seen one comment complaining that if you left doors open insects came in- again that comes with the territory, if it bothers you don't leave the doors open or simply don't come to Tanzania. Similarly the suggestion that the lodge is " a long drive from the crater" is unrealistic. It is a short drive from the park gates after which there is certainly a bit of a drive to the crater rim but it's location is part of the reason it is comparatively inexpensive as opposed to accommodation on the crater rim. We stayed in a lodge on the rim the following night which for similar budget was much more basic & where unquestionably the temperature was much, much cooler.
The usual "escort back to room after dark" service applied & staff were friendly.

Our only small criticism is that the bar could have been better stocked.

all in all we would thoroughly recommend Endoro Lodge- provided a lot for the price

This lodge was a wonderful place to stay! The setting is so picturesque and peaceful, with lush forests surrounding the lodge and so much bird life to be seen. We had a lovely evening sitting on the balcony as the sun set, drinking wine and bird watching. The rooms are spacious and clean - note for those sharing with friends/acquaintances, no door on the bathroom - beds are comfortable. The buffet style breakfast and dinner was very good. The staff are incredibly attentive - we felt extremely well cared for. There is a very expensive laundry service available - so we opted not to use this. There is no wi-fi, but there is a single laptop with very slow, but useable, internet which is available for guests.

We had a long journey from Tarangire, were somewhat fazed by the very dusty and bumpy approach to Endoro but when we arrived it was like stepping into a different world. The welcome was lovely, the gardens green and full of flowers and our bungalow was spacious, clean and pretty. The room was large with a sitting area and fireplace at one end, a kingsize bed and a bathroom with bath and shower and even an outside shower ---too cold to use when we were there. Outside we had a patio and also a small lawn with shrubs to shield us from the adjacent bungalow.
We had an early night so cannot comment on the dinner but breakfast was adequate, we only had the basics as we were hurrying to get to the Crater. I can recommend Endoro but it`s over an hour`s drive to the Crater so it does mean a very early start!

Room Tip: All rooms are on a hillside so are up fairly steep slopes. Rooms 1 & 2 are nearest the dining ar...

We arrived here having the first two nights camping in Tarangire, so it was great to stay in such nice comfortable cottages. The grounds were lovely. Very green with an abundance of colour too.

Loads of hot water in the outdoor shower and the rooms i thought were nicely furnished. Didn't look cheap to me at all.

The staff were very helpful. Got some laundry done overnight with no problem. We had a fun drink around the fire and there were some Maasai singers and dancers there too.

My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the food was not as good as it could have been.

We stayed 2 nights in this comfortable hotel. It is surrounded by green and is very quiet. The rooms are spacious, but furniture is not of the best quality and the closets have a lot of dust, so we did not leave our clothes in them. It was a bit too cold to use the outside shower, the bathtub is sympathetic but not necessary for us. The inside shower is more practical. The meals were not as good as we got used to in Tanzania ( especially the pic-nic packages), service was excellent as everywhere in Tanzania. There is not much to do in and around the hotel, they do not have a swimming pool ( probably too cold for that) and to go for a walk appears difficult. Bring a good book with you when you come back early from your safari. For this roomrate you could expect something more special.

Endoro Lodge is a nice place to stay. We booked two rooms for us and the kids , but got the family bungalow with 3 bed- and bathrooms. A lot of space !!! All bungalows are in a lovely garden. Nice central area with restaurant and bar. Very helpful staff. However they should improve the quality of food , because that is just avarage where the rest is excellent.

We booked our trip with a credit card. When we arrived, they demanded full payment in cash for our three days stay. We explained that they already accepted our credit card online, and we had not prepared to bring thousands of dollars in cash with us (they only accept dollars or euros). They made us wait outside for SEVERAL HOURS--literally--not allowing us into our rooms, while speaking to each other only in Swahili.

When we were finally allowed into our rooms, they treated us like criminals for the entire stay, asked us to fill out forms over and over and over again, and even phoned us in the middle of a safari demanding we pay additional charges.

Imagine YOURSELF in Karatu, Tanzania, with little cash, few alternatives, and hostile hosts. Welcome to Endoro.
